If this is true, I'm really excited about this. I'm sure they can get Hasselhoff and William Daniels to do the voices.

I wouldn't mind that so much, either. The bulk of voice work for David Hasselhoff and William Daniels sounds like it would go to the cartoon, relegating their roles in the television movie/series to cameos, most likely from what it sounds like. For years we got nothing but rumors as fans and now all of a sudden it seems like this franchise is exploding all over the place.

I agree with Lost Knight (and others). I'm hoping this means that KR is about to experience another heyday. And this time maybe even more popular than Cars or Herbie.

All I hope is that it'll be on broadcast (ie. non-cable) TV or iTunes so I can be able to see it.

Hopefully a comic would follow the cartoon. That's one thing that I always wanted from KR. I think it would have made(and still would make)a kick-ass comic.

Yes, and it's amazing if even a little mind blowing! All I know is that I'm geared to see anything!

If the cartoon does get put into production, I think this would be a great way to reach kids, who might be a bit too young for the PG-13 movie or probably rated TV-14 series. It's just another way to expand the franchise.

I think that this animated Knight Rider series is what David Hasselhoff intended on Entertainment "Knight Rider Returns?".

Not bad, just weird that it all happens at once.

i'm hoping that either the movie OR live-action tv series goes ahead, with this cartoon (if it happens) tying in with it, as too many kr universes together will get too confusing for new audiences - ie. the kids.

best solution in my honest opinion: new live-action tv series as a sequel to the original, with the cartoon series featuring further adventures of the original michael/KITT team. what you think?

Yes, it would be the best solution, but it isn't going to happen, Glen isn't going to join NBC, Glen don't anymore wants to create tv series only movie (As i understood from Victros Kros posts).

And even if he did, it still wouldn't be sequel as too many people would be lost.

Didn't see the linked article but I wish Knight Rider cartoon would be made with computer graphics like the Pixar Cars movie

The fact you have to pay to read the article I find very suspicious, especially since said content can't seem to be found anywhere else online.

The only article I managed to track down was one regarding animated mobile content for Magnum PI and Knight Rider which was dated last year so I'm assuming perhaps that didn't go through or is in development?
