Some of you may remember from last summer that my KITT model got damaged because it dropped to the ground during photographing. It was slow progress but I finished it today. Besides repairing the scratched paint I also did quite a lot changes to the model.

Here's few pics I took during the repairing / detailing process:

First the pics taken today of finished KITT. Wanted to do according to Junk Yard Dog episodes spirit and went back to the location where it got damaged last year.

The final paintjob, needed still some polishing after this pic:

Pics of bondoing & sanding, did it many many times until it looked smooth.

Among other changes I cutted the foglight openings as they were in the show, one wide opening per side. It was very slow job to cut the pillars and file down the remainings:

Here's few other changes I made:

This is how the nose looked like after the accident:

what color did you use for the interior? it looks a lot closer to the 1/1 scale car's tan interior. I would love to take my 1/18 kitt apart and redo all the tan areas and paint the areas they forgot tan as well.

Thanks for the comments :)
Used Humbrol 63 enamel paint for the interior. It's a bit different colour than the model's original but don't know if there's exact match.
The trickiest thing is to get the steeringwheel off from the switchpods without breaking anything when taking the model apart & put it back together. I lubricated the steeringwheel axle with soapfluid so it slipped on and off easier and handled it very carefully.

Made videoclips of my model, first the "overflight" inspired from the 1st season driving scenes.

Next video, KITT goes to save Michael :D

I think you pretty much nailed the color of the 1/1 car's interior fabric. I thought the color they used in the 1/18 was way too light. I painted the interior of my 1/25 KITT models Testors Dark Tan but it only comes in small 3oz bottles and not in a spray.

Gotta give the credit about the interior colour for andy-kitt from Knight Rider UK, got the colour code from one of his posts.
Do you have pics of the 1/25 KITT's painted interior?
