i mean the game works fine, i just can't install any add-ons to it, it locks right up. The only reason i bought the damn thing was b/c of these add-on cars. :kitt:

i dont know how to do it in vista but in xp you right click on the GTAsa.exe and click properties then compatibility, then change it to 98 or XP and accept, that SHOULD work but i dont know!

it might be somthing to do with yer handling configs, if theyre not spaced correctly it causes the game to crash, i think it might be 'WORD WRAP'?

I don't know Tobie, I am sure I did something wrong, or it is Vista. I tried the compatibility issue, same thing. It seems like the img 2.0 tool works ok, but the other thing, the txd tool I guess, I don't know what that is all about so I usually just try to copy and paste in notepad. I'm by no means a big computer whiz, so I probably messed something up.

its a matter of probability, do a fresh install, then just install the cars with no texture file, run the game, if it works THEN install the TXD file, if that then runs, copy paste the handling stuff, if it crashed on any of them youll know which one is causing the hiccups and then fix it!

It works in Vista: install it, click the right button on the icon on the desktop and click on properties. Then go to compatibility tab and select "run in compatibility mode: Windows XP"


By the other hand, Tobi could you give us any advance about your work and/or the TC?

im not really anything to do with them mod exept i created all the cars, theres a beta out but its just my cars with engine sounds, i cant get it to work it crashes my gta!

i vahe just installed only the cars using the sami file from your beta tc on my old German team final tc of knight rider.

Dont install the exe´s, just use only the SAMI file. You can try too to install the save in a diff folder not GTA one, and later move the config folders to your Audio ones into your GTA SA installation folder.

Anyway the way the cars are installed makes the Knight 3000 models to lose the moving scanner, and also the SEMI trailer has some bugs on the colors of the sides, they look grong/transparent.

like i said i just made the cars, i didnt do anything else, they siad it was a while yet, im re-releasing all my kitts soon, so they WILL all work proper hopefully. :D

OK. How the hell do I do all this. I can't quite follow the read me instructions, and IF, by any means, I somehow get these cars into the game, where can they be found, do I have to steal them, or are they going to be parked someplace?

if you cant understand that forget it! its soooooooo easy, just try everything, bit by bit! use img tool, and so on, other than that i cant help, vista is well known for crashing modded GTASA, :| keep going!

ok so, IF i could by accident, get one of these cars into this game, how do I find out they're there? Do I have to steal one or are they parked someplace?

you mean the txd tool, just for replacing textures in the txd files, dont worry cos my next pack will be a sami file and install itself!

you know what though? I tried SAMI assisted cars and I just tried installing the General Lee with the TXD tool AND IMG TOOL 2.0 TUTORIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO GOOD. I did it EXACTLY like it said and it didn't work, My game crashes after I select new game, and I used to be able to run as administrator. In XP Compatible Mode. No even that don't work. So I just about give up. What else can I friggin do?

A complete nightmare-- I can't even replace the new files with the backup files so I now have to reinstall it. I've done this *?$# with this stupid game like 25 or 30 times now, so Can yous understand why the hell I'm getting so fed up with this???

maybe I got the solution :mrgreen: I realized just now this is a second edition CD :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: , but the read me said version 1.0. I wonder if this could be it (the problem)

i haven't yet figured the command center out yet, I thought it would be simple to check things off, but it is not carrying over to the game
