Nothing here in the US yet. Checked a Diecast dealer who looked like he had EVERTHING (I didn't know they did a 1/18 Munster Coach!) and he is checking HIS sources. Also checked Wal-Mart...
Meanwhile, I still have a pre-order with Toynk, who don't know when they're getting it.
:(

do a search on completed listings. there was quite a few auctions for both cars.most were for "buy it now" at $99 USD and the seller offered shipping to the US for $29. there was another auction that was up to $104 the last i checked it with a few days remaining.the buy it now ones don't seem to last very long. i am impatient and want this car badly but i will not pay $130 for it. i'll just have to wait until my pre-order arrives. :(

Maybe its because all the models have been snapped up even before the retailers put it online for auctions etc... The models are selling like hotcakes here...

Be patient guys...the models will arrive in US stores soon. Don't buy the expensive ones in ebay and let these crafty sellers make a bundle of money out of all of you. ERTL/Joyride won't let us down because of a shortage, they will definitely manufacture more units if they feel it is necessary.

....didn't I read somewhere that this cars would be limited to some 10,000 units in its production run?

I doubt it if they will just manufacture 10,000...the initial first batch perhaps but as long as they sell well, they will definitely manufacture more. But in any case, when they hit the toy stores, get one fast just in case.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 07879&rd=1
i might add that this auction is for much cheaper than most online retailers are selling them for
also, these have been the best close-up pics of this car as of yet that i have seen.

I doesn't look like a clutch. Judging by the shape, I'd say it's the parking brake. Have a look at the '81 Trans Am interior below. (I couldn't find an interior photo from an '82-'92)

As I've mentioned earlier...the ERTL KITT has both the clutch pedal and incorrect brake pedal (fit for a manual transmission). The brake pedal should be wide, the one in the model is very small (really designed for a manual).

Big deal, so the pedals aren't precisely the way they should be. We all know this model is not 100% accurate. I'm just happy the car will be available at all! This genration Firebird has always been my favorite, and it's about time Ertl is making it available for us. Especially as KITT first! :)

Third generation Firebirds don't have foot actuated parking brakes. While second generation ones have them as foot pedals, the 1982 and up Trans Am had them at the right-center console near the gear shift (hand actuated).

Isn't the gear stick in the model a manual anyway?

Hard to see... In the show it is automatic anyway... Speaking of gear stick, don't u guys think that the gear stick is too deep under the dashboard in this model.. Michael wld have a hard time reaching it

As you can see, my KITT has no pedals! Gonna have to return it for an exchange - the model is superb though, well worth the wait!

Like I said on another forum Daniel... Great pics!!!! Those are very sharp! Taken very professionally.... Really wish I can take pics as good as yours...

Really unlucky though that there is no pedals... How did that happen??? I remembered there was one guy from KR UK forums who had a passenger seat missing for the Aoshima 1/43 KR cars....

Must just have slipped through the net. Their website says they don't offer a spare parts service, and it's a long way to go back to London to return it. Might wait 'till after Xmas and take it to a local retailer and say I recieved it as an Xmas present!

All the best mate.. But it is just the pedals... You really want to go back all the way to London just for that? Hardly noticeable anyway with the great looking dashboard in there.... :D
