Question to all with wording in their desktops: are you guys using captures or a font or are you guys drawing the words to get them to look like that? For example, the "KR" big letters or those of you with "Knight Rider" on the bottom of the desktops - are those letters a font or drawn? I'm trying to create a desktop for my new HTPC system that I'm building (which will have a functional KITT vox display on it - think "Soul Survivor") and I could really use some help, tips, whatever you got.

There is a font that the new Knight Rider series uses,and it's called EARTH(it's catagorized as a Sci-Fi style font).I found my version on DAFONT.com(and these are legally downloadable fonts by the way.)http://www.dafont.com/earth.font Here's the direct link to the font used in the new KR series.

I just was searching through the site and came across this blog and figured I would give my hand at it...let me know what you think.

I seem to have the same desktop as others here have posted.

Thanks! I'll start messing around with it now and hopefully my system (vox and all) will be operational by the weekend. That font should make for some nice lettering on the desktop i'm making.

I've passed on a copy to neps to post on the site, hope they can do it soon. I looked at Photobucket and unfortunately it's too big to load up (both in dimensions and file size). If it's not up in a couple weeks or so I'll see if I can borrow web space somewhere to upload it.

heh, I'm not very good at this. I still can't get my letters to look raised and shiny like the others' desktops. Any thoughts? However, I did discover a cool looking effect.

You have to find the effects,but I wish I knew what program you use for making those images.If I knew,then I could help you with some things.

goldburg I have been waiting, but site admins don't seem to be adding the wallpaper to their site.

You have to upload your image to somewhere like photobucket.com for example,then paste the image url.

I use ubuntu linux, thats why i have 2 taskbars
but anyway this is my desktop with weezl's wallpaper
