You know, it's funny- i checked with amazon two days ago, and they said it wasn't ready for ordering yet, but they'd let me know. Well, I never got notification that it was available. I trust amazon on most things, but their 'email notification" system needs work.

Wow, just like that, it pops onto Amazon.com! This is so SWEET!
I think I'm most looking forward to seeing WHITE BIRD uncut for the first time since being a kid, because most of the other notable episodes of Season One have already been been put out by CH or UP.

Amazing, after being available on Amazon.com for only about 1 day, the number of people that have pre-ordered is pushing 600 already!! They are gonna sell like hotcakes!
Funny, the Dukes Season One release which is a couple months closer then KR, only has 39 pre-orders, NOW which show is better? heh heh

Pre-ordering is nice but I think I'll wait until my local Costco gets a shipment in during that DVD release week and I can grab it for a wholesale price instead of the jacked up prices seen almost everywhere else. Plus, no S/H charges.

so wait, does the season 1 on amazon.com have all the extras and specials also?

It has whatever the DVD ends up with

Yup, in the end there will only be one version, and all retail stores will have the same copy. So if any extras are released on the set, all retail stores will have it just the same.

well amazon has free shipping when you pre order it and its over 25 dollar orders. and when you pre order it you ususally get it before it hits the street in stores. I got Indy DVD trilgoy almost a WEEK before every store in my area did when i ordered it online

Not to mention, Amazon.com has some of the lowest prices anywhere, so chances are it will be cheaper than in the stores as well!

actually, buy.com currently has the cheapest price at $37.75, but i'm not sure of their shipping or tax policies so Amazon still may be cheaper.

I forgot to tell everyone this before...I know that some people were concerned with getting the clearances for the music heard on the show. My contact at Universal said that they dont anticipate any problems with using the original music.

Joe one more question (or to anyone else who may know) do you know how many about have to be sold for them to do the rest of the seasons?

No I don't have any specific number, but he seemed confident that future seasons would be produced.

My only gripe about these DVD's is that it has a mono soundtrack and not a stereo one.

When it gets to s3 or s4, that's when the stereo track will be on there, I feel.
I think stereo only came with the 4th season but thats better than nothing.

...that doesn't explain the current playback released video's and DVD's. I swear the sound is beyond mono quality. I think most of the eps (including the pilot) have a stereo track (Season 4 sounds surround on my TV setup). If they were mono, they can be digitally remastered into 5.1........if done correctly.
