Yes they are the Shelby Alcoa 20" rims. The same ones used on KITT as well as the Shelby Super Snake.

So $500 for 2 rims,I heard someone say it was a $1000 for each rim,did you get them at a discount or something?

Most places are selling them for around $490 per wheel. Tires not included.

After tax it was 504 per rim.
Yes the car is stock for now, other than my new GT500KR axle-back exhaust system that came in today! Not only does he look like KITT, he now sounds like him too! :twisted:

Sounds like a good deal. I've been looking around at them, and I really want them, just can't stomach paying that for rims (yet). How did you get the KR exhaust? Any vid clips? I have the boom tubes from Mac on mine, and it sounds pretty close. Overall, I like your KI3T ALOT! I hope my KARR can look as good when I'm done.

TAMatt, you have definately done an amazing job. I can't wait for the finished product with the striping. The hood looks awesome; the paint job is impecable; the wheels are amazing; the scanner is perfect. Wow.

How are you doing the lettering on the side (the "GT500KR" by the front wheel well)?

Taoworm, please do make more than 15 scanners. I'm preparing to have a mid-life crisis in a few years (when I can afford a used Mustang GT) and hope to overcome that upcoming crisis by building my own KI3T. Or at least save one for me. 8)

Thanks so much for all the comments guys. It really means a lot to me!
Here's a clip of the GT500KR mufflers:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am8p2whSZZY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They're the same mufflers as sold through Ford Racing.
I don't think I'll be doing the GT500KR striping on the side, however if I do, it probably will say KI3T or something. I'm not claiming my car to be a KR, only KI3T! 8) That's the reason I'm not putting snake badges on too.

I'm hoping to have KI3T near completion by the Knight Rider Festival in March.

I have a feeling Taoworm will probably have a hard time keeping up with demand for the scanner, haha. I can promise you won't be disappointed! :good:

Yeah Pastor J just added that section a few days ago. Some of that info is incorrect though, so it's not complete yet...

Your KITT is really awesome. With those little details like the Knight symbol at the rims and without the black racing stripes the car looks even better than the one in the show.
It's perfect. But I understand that you want to add the stripes for an accurate look. :good:
