Hello everyone,
First off - let me know just say that as someone who visits forums for other topics, I know how irritating it is for new people, particularly journalists, to parachute in and ask for a community's help.
Equally I know how irritating it is when this subject has presumably been discussed before ... but after a quick search around, I can't seem to find a thread.
I work for the BBC as a technology reporter, and following the sad news of Glen Larson's death, I wanted to look at some of the tech seen in Knight Rider that was remarkably ahead of its time.
I figured asking this forum might be a good place to start. What should I include?
You can reach me on dave.lee@bbc.co.uk ... or of course via this thread.
Again, hope I've not been too intrusive.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,
My apologies for your account getting caught by the anti-spam feature we had to install last year. As I'm sure you know, the onslaught of spam can be a huge problem when it's flooding a family orientated forum such as this with content that's unsuitable for our youngest members.
Unfortunately, I see you've already posted the article, so it'll be too late for suggestions. You've definitely chosen well though. The only thing off the top of my head I can think of that you haven't included is a passage on the comlink, and its similarities with the Samsung Galaxy Gear. As I'm sure you'll agree, being able to hold conversations via a wristwatch is very much in the spirit of the show.

Welcome aboard the Knight 2000.
Thank you. What's all this, it looks like Darth Vader's bathroom?

Re: Help for BBC article on Knight Rider
There are a few things wrong with that article. The original kitt from the 80's did have an oxygen vent installed a few episodes into season 1 Slammin Sammy Stunt Show Spectacular. Kitt also used it to help Michael after drinking in too much saltwater in season 4 Knight Racer. The image you have of the season 1/2 dash is very lackluster, missing button pods, and isn't the correct amount of monitors for that season design.

The season 3/4 dash did look more futuristic.
