My Killer KARR

Post by jknightandkarr » Thu Aug 07, 2014 2:21 pm

Thought I'd post on my KARR, It's a twist on 2-Tone KARR. It was going to be SPM KARR, but after my wife made some suggested changes, he's now Killer KARR!
It's an 89 T/A with a 305 TBI 3.27 Posi-Disk
Going with Black & Gunmetal Gray Ext & Lt Sand Gray & Black interior w/Gunmetal gray converison parts.

This was my KARR as it went to the 03 Knight Nats.

This is my KARR at the moment, trying to redo things so, it's kinda torn appart.

Various test pics of my interior colors I'm going with, Lt Sand Gray w/Black. I think it's going to look good.

Both my nose and scanner from ADIAT.

Got a 2nd season Dash from Rob, also have his 4th season upper, & waiting on lower console & 4th season pods.

Here's my nose & scanner on a couple of cars, that was just too far gone to save... The first 2 pics are the same car, 82 T/A, total junk, no part of that car was good except for the spoiler, wheels & tail lights... The last pic is me with an 83 T/A a friend gave me to replace the 82, but after swapping out the pass side door, found the car was twisted, so had to junk it. sad, I put soo much work in replacing the damaged drivers front sub-frame & damage to the firewall.....

I decided to bolt my nose on KARR, I got tired of seeing it in the basement.

KARR Again.

My stock dash wiring was shot, so a friend found a new harness, it's from a 90/91 but I've been making it work for me.
Image
My wife Brandi doing a couple of soldering mods to the new harness.

The dash with all electric instruments. I've decided to swap in an 82-84 dash into my 89. Main reason is as my rear shot shows, I've added the rear wiper to my non-defog hatch, so needed to make my rear wiper switch fit the look of rest of the dash, and I'll be using the stock defog switch as a replacement driving lamp switch, I gotta make a control circuit for it before it will work for me.

Got my 82-84 dash core installed in KARR with the 89 instrument cluster and new wiring harness. Then got the fiberglass dash installed into place. I still have some wiring to finish, but it's getting there.

I like the 12th pic from the top.Karr looks like he's shaping up.I like how each pic has a certain part of the final result you're going for.I also like the gauges of the trans am through the kitt dash.Makes me think that's what the prototype for karr must have looked like in early phases.
