Knight Rider joke on Leno

So I was watching my TIVO, and the Tonight Show monologue finished off with a joke about Knight Rider!!!

I laughed, but it went something like this:

Rumor has it that David H. is in the process of making a movie based on the Knight Rider show from the 80's, ya know, with the talking car? What happened was when they saw David acting, they said "hey, why don't we give the car a few lines"

.

Anyway I thought it was interesting that the movie rumor made it to Leno!

I guess Jay Leno did not do enough reseach to make that joke.

Arrghh! I started TiVo-ing Leno on Monday, looking for the Knight Rider joke I was sure he'd make about the new movie. After 3 days, I gave up. And on the 4th day, he did it.

Thanks for reassuring us that when it comes to the easy Knight Rider jokes, Leno won't let us down!

I still prefere the Conan tribute (Well...it wasn't funny at all) to KR, when they were doing a bit about all the 'new' quarters, and had one giving a full image to the opening scene, where KITT is driving towards the camera, out in the desert. It happened quite a while ago.
