neps: August 2003 Archives

Attention all American viewers. Sci-FI will be airing the Knight Rider 2000, and 2010 movies this Monday! The 1990's made for tv movie Knight Rider 2000, will be airing at Noon, it stars David Hasselhoff and Edward Mulhare, and off course KITT.

Then, at 2, Sci-FI will air Knight Rider 2010, (which really has nothing to do with the previous incarnations) takes place in a Mad Max type future. A smuggler and his U.S. marshal brother team up to avenge their father's murder. Their car is has the essance of Jake's girlfriend in control of the car.

Back in 1997, before TKR was released, I received a copy of a promo trailer for TKR. The 5 minute video was sent to syndicators and advertisers around the country to build support and sponsorship. It summaried the basic story for the new series, and introduced the characters and vechicles.

After the show aired, I put the whole video online, but a couple of years ago I had to take it down because at the time we were having board issues and what not and I needed the space.

To make a long story short, I've put the video back online. I've re-encoded it so it has better quality, and is half the file size of the original. Its 240x180, and is just under 10MB in size. It's pretty interesting to see if you haven't before, especially for those who missed its run.

You can find it at:

Thanks to Phil of, who brought us KITT for GTA3, we now have KITT OR KARR for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City!

The mod replaces the Zebra Cab, which you get after you finish the Kaufman-Taxi mission. Once you complete it, you will find the car waiting for you at the aufman Taxi Building! The car doesn't do any of the features of KITT/KARR, however after you complete 100 Taxi-Missions you will unlock the ability to jump with the cab, and thus KITT or KARR.

You will require the following files, plus the Vice City game for the PC only to complete:

Spooky's IMG-Tool

Dmagic1's Wheel Mod

Steve-m's Coll Editor

and finally:

Phil's KITT/KARR Mod

Remember, this is a mod, and you perform it at your own risk!

Thanks to K.I.T.T for the heads up!
