March 2009 Archives

Just two hours left on our eBay auction raising money for the Children's Miracle Network. Our Knight Rider Festival package includes a signed print, t-shirt, magazine and other swag. Please help if you can!

We also have some t-shirt and pins left at our online store, with limited quantities left on our custom Knight Rider Online shirts. This will be our final push - so thank you for your help!

We had our HD cameras rolling all weekend at The Knight Rider Festival, where fans came from all around the world to meet such Knight Rider stars as:
Justin Bruening, Rebecca Holden, Catherine Hickland, Stu Phillips, Don Peake, Jack Gill, George Barris, Dennis Braid, Tony Wood, Michael Scheffe, Buzz Bundy, James Smith, James Winburn, Nate Truman and Glen A. Larson.

Check out the video above, or visit our Videos page for more videos of the event.
Also be sure not to miss photos of the event on our Photos page.

It was great to see so many new faces. If you see your self, drop into our forum and let us know.

NBC has finally done what many were waiting for! The first season of the original Knight Rider is now available via both NBC and Hulu! Now there is a way for US based viewers to have a free legal method of watching the original series.

Classic episodes such as Pilot, Trust Doesn't Rust (first appearance of KARR), Give Me Liberty... or Give Me Death (KITT jumps the General Lee), White Bird (first appearance of Stevie) and many others are now available for you any time day or night!

We will let you know when further seasons become available! If you are in the US, be sure to watch via these methods (for the new series too!) it's the only way NBC will know we are out here watching.

If you're a KITT owner and have a completed conversion, Star Car Central is looking for you. They've got a registration database going where they hope to have a complete registry for all Star Car vehicles like KITT. They help put replica owners with rental opportunities, such as appearances in movies for films like "Kickin' it Old School", on TV for the G4 channel, or parading down Hollywood in a parade.

The man behind Star Cars is Nate Truman, whom we had the pleasure of meeting this past weekend at Knight Rider Festival. Nate has a really interesting Knight Rider connection, one that we'll go into more detail in the near future. Just a little preview - he was the voice of KITT at the Universal Studios Theme Park in Hollywood.

At the Knight Rider Festival, Paul Casey the shows creator introduced his beautiful daughter to us. She is a special needs child and the reason behind his strong drive to help make a difference.

Just like Paul, everyone who came to the Knight Rider Festival was there to make a difference. Some donated time, others money, and some the use of their creative talents.

If you could not come this year there is still a chance to make a difference and help children. Proceeds from the items in our store will go to charity. We've got official festival t-shirts, Knight Rider Online t-shirts and button packs.

We also ended up with an extra signed autograph sheet and some other goodies. So to continue on in the spirit of the event that brought all of these honored guests together, we are actioning it off for charity. We've put it together with a package where the winner will also received a official festival shirt, collectors edition copies of Today In Las Vegas (with KITT and Deanna Russo on the cover) as well as KRO pins and swag. Auction will end on March 31st and we will ship internationally!

We just wanted to quickly post and thank everyone so much for making Knight Rider Festival a huge success. Easily thousands and thousands of people streamed through Fremont street and witnessed the largest Knight Rider event in the history. Without question it was a huge success proving that together as fans we can make a difference in someones life, and help the Children's Miracle Network.

From all the fans, to all the car owners. To Paul Casey, the celebrities that attended (Glen A. Larson, Justin Bruening, Rebecca Holden, Catherine Hickland, Stu Phillips, Don Peake, Jack Gill, George Barris, Dennis Braid, Tony Wood, Michael Scheffe, Buzz Bundy, James Smith, James Winburn, Nate Truman and others I'm sorry I'm forgetting right now) and all the groups and individuals that made it possible (Knight Rider Online, Knights of the West Coast, Knight Registries, Nick Nugent, Knight Rider Companion, Advanced Designs in Automotive Technology, willitmakeit, woody's hot rod shop, Shelby Automobiles, Cinema Vehicle Services, Star Car Rentals, and many others). To all the people we met and the memories that we wont forget, thank you all!

We posted four hours of live coverage direct from the event as it happened which you can still see on our live page (click on the yellow "qik" icon for previous clips). With all of us concentrating on the Knight Rider Festival this weekend, I'm sure we would have been forgiven if we managed to somehow miss one of the most newsworthy non-festival related stories that's currently making the rounds.

Whilst this news isn't going to have the global impact that a story regarding the show's renewal or cancellation would, it's heartening to learn that the 2008 continuation is finally beginning to spread its wings, and make inroads into some of the original series' most popular markets, markets that may prove to be an essential element in the show's fight for survival.

For those of you that are interested in reading the full story, feel free to hit the jump.

We are just over 40 hours away from the largest Knight Rider gathering in history - the Knight Rider Festival. Fans from across the globe are already in Vegas or on their way to it shortly.

We understand that many of you can't make it and want to make sure you too have a chance to witness this event live as it unfolds. This is why we have setup a special LIVE viewing area of the festivals goings on. Equipped with a 3g cell phone and qik account - we'll be broadcasting live as often as possible starting at 5PM PST!

Spread the word and enjoy the show!

Also tomorrow is the last day for the PRE Festival prices for our tshirts and buttons with proceeds going to the Children's Miracle Network.

menu.jpg After carefully critiquing all of the videos that were submitted, the votes are finally in. It was really a tough call because they all were really excellent. We could tell a lot of time and dedication was put into each one. The top three videos will be playing at the VIP event at the Knight Rider Festival in Las Vegas. The winners names have been added to the VIP party guest list. So without further ado. Here they are...

1st Place Sarah screen name KITT

2nd Place Matt screen name Weeezl

3rd Place Natalie screen name DavidHFanNatalie

paul_campbell.jpgThe Hollywood Reporter writes today that Paul Campbell, our Billy, will star in a pilot being produced by ABC Studios entitled "No Heroics"

ABC Studios' "Heroics" revolves around four B-list superheroes living among the general population. Canadian Campbell ("Knight Rider") plays the leader of the group, a Canadian-born superhero who can freeze small objects. He is repped by WMA and ROAR.

While terrific news for Paul, this also would cast doubt on Knight Riders chances. However as a working Actor, we understand that he would take up new opportunities. Pilots are routinely developed by studios only to not be picked up for a full series.

nbc_blogs.jpg

Lets check up on the NBC blogs, as they posted what is likely to be their final updates for the season.

From Knight Riders:

Tonight was our 17th and final episode of the season, but it was actually shot as our 13th episode. Matt Pyken has already touched upon some of the reasons why episodes get shuffled around in his blog entry from Dec. 31st. Why did this episode in particular get moved? It's simple. After looking at cuts of all the remaining episodes to air, this one most felt like the beginning of something new. And, ideally, that's what you want in a season finale -- a launching point for the following season.

From Billy's Blog - so much to say, so little time:

Okay. Time for the truth serum. I have no idea what to blog about. I mean, I do KNOW what I want to blog about, but there's so much going on, I don't know where to start. I could talk about this cool new drug developed at Balham Labs that can give ordinary people super strength. I could talk about all the comic book movies coming out soon. I could even talk about the beginning of baseball season. Yes, baseball. I follow sports, too, you know. Especially a stat-obsessed sport like baseball. At the beginning of each season, I create a new matrix analyzing the performance of every player who plays in spring training, and then use the data to predict their performance during the regular season. So far I've correctly predicted three Cy Young Award winners, two Rookies of the Year, and one World Series winner. So the question is... what do I blog about today?

and That's all, folks?

There are no real secrets anymore. Sure, most of the work I do is "classified." And the government is always eager to deny the existence of anything we do. And, yeah, my bosses get a lot of use out of those neat black highlighters. And of course my family and friends are frustrated because they can never get a straight answer when they ask what I've been up to or how things are at work.

Thanks to all the people who have posted on their official blogs, they've always been entertaining and insightful. We'll see you for season two!

If you are a KITT replica owner still debating if you're making the trip to Vegas in two weeks for the Knight Rider Festival, take note. Today is the last day to register free of charge for the event. Otherwise it's $45 dollars processing. This fee is for replica participants only. The event remains free to the general public.

deanna_attackkitt.jpg

The lovely Deanna Russo is off to the Persian Gulf this week to as part of the USO tour to help the morale of our troupes overseas. We think it's terrific that she's doing something so noble and wish her all the best.

We look forward to seeing her in less than two weeks at the Knight Rider Festival, another worthy cause benefiting the Children's Miracle Network.

The slump in the economy may be causing many Knight Rider fans to cut back on Knight Rider toys. But fortunately some treasures come for free.

Here is a great free Knight Rider toy we stumbled across while surfing the web.

A David Hasselhoff paper doll complete with a leather jacket, and interchangeable Garthe head with pimp cane. He even comes with his iconic thumbs up hand.

Check out this video that is just pure fun. A YouTube'r has complied almost all of the jumps from the original series (he got capped by YouTube's 10 minute clip length). Sit back and enjoy!

claw-thumb.jpg.jpegTonight is the finale episode of the first season of Knight Rider! The seventeenth episode is entitled "I Love the Knight Life." Unfortunately we haven't seen a video teaser for this episode (hello NBC!), but here is what we do know:

STRONGER THAN IS HUMANLY POSSIBLE--Mike (Justin Bruening) and KITT (voiced by Val Kilmer) are trying to track down a stolen serum that maximizes the recipient's physicality before it gets into the wrong hands. With the help of the lab's research assistant, Billy (Paul Campbell) learns some information about the serum that will help Mike when he takes on the now powerful thief. Meanwhile, Sarah (Deanna Russo) is overwhelmed with her new duties and quickly learns how much work it will take to reinstitute the Foundation for Law and Government.

We will be in the chat room as well as the forum discussing tonight's episode - please join us!

THIS IS THE FINAL EPISODE OF THE SEASON, so be sure to tell everyone you can to watch so that we get a Season 2 - check out our campaign page for more ways to make that happen.

We have no way to track how many letters we have sent so far, but you can drop into this thread and let us know if you sent one
