Last year our own Michael Pajaro ran into Paul Campbell at the Nautica Malibu Triathlon. We just got word from Paul and his lovely wife Laurie that they are racing again. Similar to last year they will be racing as part of a relay team, with Paul doing the running leg. This is being done to raising money for the Children's Lifesaving Foundation, and they are accepting donations for the charity.

As Lorie explains it:

"The charity is The Children's Lifesaving Foundation --it is a non-profit based in Venice and is dedicated to totally transforming the lives of LA’s at-risk homeless youth and families. During the school year we tutor the children after school --and in the summer we provide a surf camp at Zuma beach twice a week."

Paul and Laurie are actively involved with this Foundation, dedicating their time and not just money to the charity. It would be great if we could help them with their fundraising efforts by sponsoring them for the race. You'll even get to see a cute wedding photo of them on the donation page.

Good luck on the race!

paul_campbell.jpgThe Hollywood Reporter writes today that Paul Campbell, our Billy, will star in a pilot being produced by ABC Studios entitled "No Heroics"

ABC Studios' "Heroics" revolves around four B-list superheroes living among the general population. Canadian Campbell ("Knight Rider") plays the leader of the group, a Canadian-born superhero who can freeze small objects. He is repped by WMA and ROAR.

While terrific news for Paul, this also would cast doubt on Knight Riders chances. However as a working Actor, we understand that he would take up new opportunities. Pilots are routinely developed by studios only to not be picked up for a full series.

  • Paul Campbell has a new movie opening in limited release today called Play the Game and co-stars Andy Griffth, Doris Roberts & Liz Sheridan.
  • PopStar interviewed Deanna Russo and finds out more about what she's been up to with her time off, and that includes working her improv chops with the Groundlings and UCB. Read it here, it's a great compliment to our interview last week - lots of good stuff throughout.
  • David Hasselhoff was seen in London last week for the Brit Awards, he appeared on Loose Women [davidNet]
  • David has also been seen in Abu Dhabi recently.
  • Justin, Deanna and Paul were spotted at the preshow events for the Golden Globes.
  • If you can't make it to the Knight Rider Festival donations are being accepted for the Children's Mircale Network. If you do plan on coming - discount prices for the hotel end on March 17th - so book now!
  • Just a reminder if you haven't already to help get Knight Rider a Second Season - visit our campaign page for ways you can help.
  • We've signed up on twitter! Follow kronline and you'll be kept up to date on all things Kngiht Rider
  • We were alerted to this two amazing images (one, two) on deviantART by rebekahann which were early concepts for an online Knight Rider comic. While NBC decided to take a pass - we hope someone else sees this artwork and sees the potential for a comic series! It is a real shame because the art is really top notch. [thanks trissybabes]

Paul Campbell, originally from Canada, spoke with the Calgary Herald about Knight Rider and his role of Billy.

Paul Campbell has trouble being serious. The curly haired Vancouver native is constantly cracking wise, and just when you think he's settled down, he makes another self-deprecating remark, as though an internal timer has gone off in his head to remind him he's gone a full 30 seconds without making a joke.

"I think they're trying to keep me away from KITT as much as possible," the Knight Rider star whispers conspiratorially, referring to the show's infamous robot car. "I don't know why, but I hear them in the hallways. I hear 'Don't let him near the car!' "

You can read the Read rest of the article on their website. If you need more Paul, be sure to check out our interview with him!

The responsibility of much of the light hearted comedy, as well as helping KITT save the day, falls to Billy Morgan (played by Paul Campbell) who is the head research technician at Knight Industries. We spoke with Paul a bit about his roll, and got quite a few chuckles out of our time with him.

Note that some of this interview, as well as Smith Cho's interview, has been held to a later date due to revealing information about a future episode.

Continuing their Knight Rider promotion, BuddyTV spent some time with Paul Campbell, who plays "Billy" on Knight Rider airing September 24th.

Paul Campbell plays Billy, the tech engineer in charge of keeping the physics and chemistry of KITT and the technology in the KITT Cave up and running. However, despite being "the guy who knows everything about it," Campbell has yet to ride in KITT through the show's first five episodes, though like many cast members, he's eager to do so.

See their whole interview here.
