Hi Knight Rider fams,

:) Happy New Year!!! :) I had a question. Who would you selected to play the characters of Michael Knight, Bonnie Barstow, Devon Millies, and most importantly Kitt??? :o I recently saw the movie "Stealth"on Starz. Josh Lucus was alright. I foud some of the similiaries between Knight Rider and the movie "Stealth". :o

I have Stealth on DVD. It's a good movie, actually. At least, I liked it. EDI ("Eddie") reminded me of a cross between KITT and KARR, actually. Pretty cool!

As for who plays whom, do a search as we have had topics (quite a few) with people coming up with ideas of who should play whom. Some of which are quite humorous. :)

Still not certain yet if they are going to do a remake of the pilot or a continuation from when Knight Rider ended. Personally I want a continuation. I am not sure how the movie will do if David isn't in it. I am VERY picky about movies and I rarely go to any so it depends on how they make this if I will go see it or not.

I believe there was some confirmation that it will be a remake. I wish it was a continuation too. But I guess they want to go after the kids who never saw KR before in their lives. Who knows... I just hope it's entertaining and that they do KITT well.

Unless I hear reviews that say it's horrible beyond belief, I'll probably go see it...even then, it depends on who's doing the reviewing. If it's Knight Rider fans on here doing the reviewing and they say it's terrible, I probably won't see it. If it's "professional" critics saying it's bad, I'll ignore them. I sometimes like movies that other people don't...I enjoyed the Eragon movie. Even though it left out a LOT of stuff in the book, I still found it enjoyable, possibly because I love dragons and they did an amazingly unbelievable job with Saphira.

I do hope they're a little more realistic with KITT's abilities in the movie. The series tended to use too many unbelievable "devices of the week" that only showed up in one episode. And a couple of times they had KITT doing obviously impossible (even with his abilities) things, like levitating glass containers in a building Michael was in. KITT being able to use microwaves to jam electronics, jam a building's power, and even hack electronic locks remotely I can buy...I can see that being possible with advanced enough tech. Levitating glass containers inside a building was not consistent with anything KITT was capable of. I just hope they keep a realistic picture of KITT's abilities throughout.

As far as I know a guy that was holding a KITT replica event in June 2007 emailed Glen Larson or his people to see if he could come. The responce was he would be busy working on the KR movie during that time. So I guess the movie will be out in 2008. If it is a remake without David I won't go see it. I am not so sure how good it will do like that. I am really disappointed to hear that. Oh well.

As far as what KITT will be doing I am sure a lot of it will be computer generated.

I'm not too keen on a "Knight Rider" movie if it's not done right at all, but I wish the creators well with the movie anyway, even if I won't really go to a movie theater to see it.

I always thought the guy from the Police Academy films looked like Devon.

Not sure what he looks like now but he would be good.
Especially if they turned it into one of those comedies
like they did the other 80's Tv series films.

I just hope they don't murderously screw it up like they did with the "Dukes of Hazzard" remake.
Does anyone else think Martin Mull would make a darn cool Devon Miles? He has that air about him..

Agreed, same mistake they made with Starsky and Hutch by making it a comedy, they shouldn't have used the "free" PR of the original show to promote the movie remake.

As for Devon, I really think it has to be one of these two fine gentlemen:

Patrick Stewart or Ian Mc Kellen, this scene from X Men.

Picard is legendary in Next Gen and Gandalf is legendary in LOTR ...

Either can re-create the debonair flair (and accent) that Devon had ...

Patrick Stewart is good at authority, but I don't think he would embody the character in the same way Edward Mulhare did. But, he could be good if they were recreating the same Devon-Michael relationship from the pilot episode, where Devon has very little respect for Michael.

I think (Sir) Ian McKellan would be a better choice. He's got the experience playing mentor roles, and has some of the same mannerisms as Mulhare. I could live with McKellan playing the part.

now this is a hard one as to who would play devon. :?
There is an actor in The Worst Week Of My Life and The Worst Christmas Of My Life that was on recently here in the UK. He is the father in law of the main character Howard, he might be good at the role.
Even the father in laws brother in the programme 'fraser' might be good.
I do agree that Sir Ian McKellen would be good.

Sir Ian McKellen seems good. But we won't know who gets the role until the movie is out, I guess. I just wish there was more progress reports (official).

Michael Caine played a damn good Alfred in Batman Begins. I think he would be the perfect Devon. Or maybe Anthony Hopkins..Nah I think Michael Caine would be best.

I can completely see this, It's quite fitting too and as you've mentioned, Macnee has worked with Larson before, As the evil "Count Iblis" in the original Battlestar series.

Unfortunately, MacNee doesn't look like that these days.

He was in a tribute to The Avengers last year in the UK and didn't look very well at all, sadly.

I think he'd be too old as Devon anyway.

While Michael Caine is a brilliant actor, I think he is a little sharp around the edges to be Devon.

Sir Ian McKellen seems to have softer and smoother acting style, a better fit for Devon's character ...
