Funny in that movie is that they have given Cage the Codname Knight Rider The Helicopter that this Sound have was an Skorpion Helicopter I remeber. It was like KITT was a Helicopter

You can also hear the turbine sound in the pilot episode of Quantum Leap. One of the main characters, Al, opens the series by driving down a deserted desert road in a modified Ferrari with K.I.T.T.'s exact sound effects. When he floors the pedal you can also hear the Turbo Boost sound effect.

I believ that Glen Larson (the producer) used that tubin wirr noise for many of his shows like Knight Rider, Battlestar Galatica (the 70s version), and Buck Rodgers. The scaner sound was aslo the same sound that the Cylon's eyes had for Battlestar Galatica as well.
