in KITTNAP when Michael jumps from car park building to the other one opposite the street.

It beat the last record which was set by him in 'a good knights work'.

I dunno, I think he covered more distance when he jumped the helicopter. Building to building, although a good jump, isn't alot of distance.

I for one would have liked to see the attempt of KITT turbo boosting over the 10 miles of traffic (he mentioned) in The Wrong Crowd. LOL

I think KARR had the biggest turbo boost. It was in Trust Doesn't Rust. When Bonnie fires the second laser shot, KARR jumps over KITT, and in the same turbo boost, jumps over the police barricade behind KITT. That has to be like over 30 feet. KITT might have had farther turbo boosts, but he was going much faster. KARR wasn't going that fast yet he jumped liked 30 feet.

How far were KITT's other turbo boosts?

what about "good day at white rock" where kitt jumps the river that seemed pretty long and high and dident the very same location also get used for a jump in the dukes of hazzard as well

Yea, I was thinking along those lines as well kr uk... The river seemed a bit more than 30ft.

I don't think the Good Knight's Work jump was ever considered to be any sort of record at the time. It simply happened to be another jump between two buildings.

Still, KITT did keep it as a record on his database as the longest he's jumped up until KITTNAP, so in the KR universe, that's the biggest jump, even though, as everyone has witnessed, there has been longer *looking* jumps.

You've got me on that one. Where did KITT ever mention that his Good Knight jump was a record at the time?

When michael is about to jump from car park to car park complex in KITTNAP.

michael n kitt discuss the length of the jump and says something along the lines of 'its longer than my previous record' but i know he was referring to the jump in 'AGKW' cos he mentions it too....or he mentioned that it'd be the longest jump he would do before he turbo'd in 'AGKW' so therefore, using my intuition, i thought he was referring to 'AGKW' as being the longest jump.

it's one of those two ways.

now my head hurts.

I'm familiar with the KITTnap reference... no argument here. But I just don't recall KITT or Michael making any comments whatsoever regarding the length of the jump in Good Knight's Work. The only lines I can think of about the jump are "surely you jest" and "good grief!"

Mike, maybe he doesn't.

I really aint sure. I don't remember the episodes that well.

It could just be then that he made a reference to 'AGKW' being the longest jump in the ep, KITTNAP.

I've been trying to find pictures of the jumps you all mentioned.

Does anybody know of a good web based resource for such pictures?

Hi all, I just found the link to this forum here.

I am not a English speaking person, so please excuse gramatical mistakes

I don't know the original name of the episode, but I think the biggest turbo boost was this one:

Some bad guys wanted to kill a woman, so the kidnapped her and brought her to a car. during driving she woke up an jumped out of the car. After this jump she lost all her minds about her self, what happend , etc.

A day later Michael went to the same place, to find her (hand-) bag. When he founded it the guys came back and wanted to steel the bag. Then KITT jumped from the street upstairs down to Michael. This was the biggest Jump of KITT I've ever seen.

I hope you did understand my explanation

That was "Forget me not." I don't remember seeing any spectacular turbo boosts in that one. I'll have to watch it again more closely :) !

Welcome to the board Dome!!

Forget Me Not has the turbo boost off a cliff on to the beach, using the same footage from the movie "The Car" that was used when KARR fell off the cliff in Trust Doesn't Rust. Based only on appearance, it does look like KITT's biggest vertical jump (or fall, at least) but because KITT specifically says that the KITTnap jump was going to be a record I think we need to stick with that one.

Good memory, Dome.

Thanks for your welcome greetings.

Yes exactly, it's name was Forget me not.
And Cliff, that's the word I didn't find yesterday.
Well It's quiet hard the speak/ write about a TV show in a foreign language :D

Well there is another Turbo Boost, which is on my opinion also a big one.

It is the Episode, where Michael is hit on the back and felt asleep (how do you say that in Englisch?) then the took him into KITT an both are finding themselves in a big car destroying machine. Michael used all of KITT's sourcess to produce a Turbo Boost jump out of the machine.

By the way:

The "White Rock" jump was at a place called Indian Dunes. The whole episode had footage from there, although the town square was Universal's backlot (think: Back to the Future).
The General Lee did a huge jump at Indian Dunes in the same spot in 1979. On almost every episode of the "Dukes," the beginning of that jump is in the credits.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Indian Dunes was a motorcycle/ATV/truck off-roading site north of LA. It was used frequently by Hollywood. That river is basically the Santa Clara River (although it might be wearing a different name at that place).
The infamous "Twilight Zone" movie accident in 1982 took place right there, too.

The whole site was bought by developers. The trees have been bulldozed now. Although they said otherwise for years, they are now planning houses for the site.
G**D*** developers.

That episode when KITT turbo boosts out of the compactor was Blind Spot. That was a big turbo boost. Probably wasn't the longest turbo boost ever, but from a standing still position it probably was the longest.

yeah this was a big one. but strange too. well the whole series is just fiction but in some explanations is mentioned, that KITT need some speed and a fast break to start a turbo boost.

Hi,
I'm new on the board, I've just discovered it today and it has been quite a surprise as I didn't imagine such a complete board about Knight Rider could exist !
On my HD, I've got the full "Good day at White Rock" episode (in french); this is the one featuring the jump over the river. I thought it could interest some of you, that's why I've made a mpeg of this turbo boost sequence !

http://ludep.free.fr/whiterockjump.mpg

The stunt is a bit messy at the end when you see KITT's position regarding the ground, and I wonder how the car looked like after the shooting ! :!:
Enjoy it

A nice jump over the river, but certainly not the biggest. I think KITTnap had the longest jump after seeing it 2 weeks ago.

Yeah I've always hated the way that jump ended and its always made me think...why didn't they load the back of the car with lead weights to even it out through the air like they did for the Dukes of Hazard?

I guess the extra weight could have been a problem in getting the car up to speed and distance etc, but still a smaller jump with the correct position through the air would have been preferable to the horrible nose down landings.

That must have hurt.

Wicked movie clip.

It astounds me that the knight rider stunt team survived each episode.
