Someone sent me this e-bay link about a George Barris Trans Am made for a TV show called "Force III". In many ways it's a LOT like Team Knight Rider.

More about the show here, including vehicle and driver profiles:

Pretty cool find, Mike. I'd prefer to be armed with a laser than with guns and missiles, but it's still cool. I think this is something like the precursor to TKR, and also similar to Viper in a way.

I caught that too. Was this an independant show or a KR spinoff? I've never heard of it. Reminds me a lot of the MASK caroon

That car rules, let me tell you. Paul Sher Jr. had it in his posession for some time until he was able to sell it. I remember him telling me that one of the people who had it before he got it put that scanner in and did a shotty job.
No KR connection or spin off here except Barris building it.
By the way, that machine gun back there actually spins and gives people some consideration before getting closer, hehe.

Dude! That cars cool!! Hehe, you get a remote on there for when you're out of the car, and I bet thieves would think twice about stealing it.

That's the sorta thing I wanna build! I'd love to knock up vehicles like that for films or TV. But nobody over here seems to know where to start!

I'd love to build a Kitt or Karr replica with those armaments. Imagine the look on some poor kids face when your rear hatch opens up to expose that massive gun:). That would certainly teach those damn Vin Diesel wannabes to stay off your bumper!

Anyone know any more about the show. IMDb doesn't even have a listing for it. I went to the force-3.com website and was intrigued. Did this show ever air? If so how many episodes were shown? This would be a nice show for The Sci-Fi channel to show as one of their series collections.

I don't think it ever aired, at least not in the U.S. I have a copy of "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows" which is very inclusive (also has syndicated listings) and it doesn't mention it at all.
It could have been an unsold pilot.

Sounds corny as hell, anyway. Wouldn't stand a chance these days.

Hmm. That show may not have been a direct spinoff, but it looks very, shall we say Knight Rider inspired?

I just found an add on how to learn to make movie and tv cars like george barris. Now mind you the add is from like 1984.
Here is the scanned image form the mag.

That show reads like a combination of KR, viper, TKR, Mega Force all rolled into one.
Very 80s
They could probably re-vamp it though and make it big today though... Kids would love it.... including the young ones.
They'd have to change the name though.... thats probably what killed it the first time around.
