I was wondering if anyone knew what happend to the K.I.F.T. after the filming of Knight Rider 2000. Was it sold, destroyed, put in a car show, and has any fan ever made a K.I.F.T. conversion car.

Kift ended up being painted black and white and turned into police cars for one of the power ranger shows. There are a couple of them now actually. but they are are sitting in a lot somewhere with blown engines. Just rotting away. One of the registries gang saw them a month or so ago in this condition.

If your interested, the mold used to create the 4000 is on ebay right now! Eric Nagy owns the mold and is currently selling it (again) don't ask, we dont know.

I was going to say "what not again" lol. Was this the guy who was selling it and had a pic of the Knight4000 plastic fix kit as a picture for it? lol

As for a replica, I think I saw somewhere where a fan was taking a 1996 Pontiac Trans-An and making a Banshee replica (I could be wrong on this).

Well, I am sure Rob Louisell welcomes your comments and would gladly appreciate it when you can show him that you can do better.

I for one have seen worse. The Knight 4000 for instance.....

The Knight 4000 car is now being used in a TV show called Scare Tactics..
It is painted Black and White, like the LA PD cars..

Apparently "Scare Tactics" is a hidden camera prank show on the SciFi channel . . .

There an official website for this show here . . .

I don't really care for scare tactics, anyone remember that episode with the naked zombie guy who was terrorizing those people? What did he have covering... himself...

It wasn't blurred out, so i figured he must have had something there

It was a little piece of cloth or something. I can't wait for the episode. I wanna see how the car looks painted up like that. Power Rangers only showed it do a couple of boot legger turns real quick. Other than that, you never saw it.

Go to the above-mentioned website for Scare Tactics and watch the preview for the next episode. They show KIFT repainted and doing some crazy turns and what-not. Looks like the episode involves some poor sap with a "suicidal driver" that takes them into a wall.
Man that show is great......

Neil and I must be on the same wavelength of minds because I took some screen caps and made a section on my website. The funny thing is, both he and I took some very similar shots (those must be the coolest shots from the promo, no?)

http://www.kr2k.com/kift.html is where you can find the goods.

And yes, this car belongs in black (with police lights even)

I'll bet it no longer has the scanner operating though :-(

Hmmmmmmmmmm..............
If one of you don't mind, I'd like to "pilfer" one of those pics and see what I can do with it in Photoshop to make it a full black ride. I'm pretty sure someone has done it, but this way half of the work is already done for me! :P

Is it me, or does it look like someone just drove the car through adhesive yellow police tape? That yellow strip looks obnoxious! :?

I was wondering if it even had the scanner hole there. I can't really tell on the videos on their site. Will have to wait for the actual program.

I wanna know why they got rid of the wheels that were on the Knight 4000, they looked much better.

I also prefer the shape of that car in red. 8)

They didn't get rid of the wheels. that isn't the same car used in knight rider 2000. A bunch of knock off's were made up for power rangers as police cars. You can tell because the interiors were different as well. They just used a few stealths and kept the stock wheels on it.

As for the Scare Tatics episode, it was neat. That guy beat the hell outta that car. The dumb kid crapped himself too. You could see glimpses of the scanner opening. No functioning scanner in it though.

I agree, I liked the look of the car being black too. Made a cool looking cop car. I didn't like how they had all the dash openings all cardboarded up though. Looked tacky.

Every now and then you could see the red scanner lens glinting in the sun.
