I was watching a few eps the other night, one of them being Big Iron where KITT's Trajectory Guide is introduced. That got me thinking...what devices that April installed were retained throughout the remainder of the series? I know Silent Mode and Trajectory Guide. Was the Ultraphonic Analyzer mentioned in Big IRon retained for the rest of the series?

What about in A Good Knight's Work when Michael jumps out of Zachary's apartment and lands safely in KITT's seat?

He says he's glad to see one of April's inventions actually work

-But wait! She invented that? We see the eject used in the pilot, but not the recover that KITT used... could this be a possible nitpick- KI?

No. Scott its not a nitpick. Actually what Michael was referring to when He jumped out of Zachary's apartment wasn't the reverse eject but that homing neckless that overode Kitt's system's and brought him to Michael whereever He was. And no it wasn't ever used again.

April's Return Functions (or functions that were introduced in the second season that continued to be used.)

Note: some of these were functions before, they just got new names after April got her claws on them.

-Audio/Video Record - Introduced: Blind Spot
-Comprehensive Configuration Analyzer - Introduced: Goliath
-Emergency System Override - Introduced: Ring of Fire.
-Heat Sensors (Hemmometer) - Introduced: K.I.T.T. the Cat
-Map Search - Introduced: Goliath
-Pyroclastic Lamination - Introduced: Ring of Fire
-Self Diagnostic Analyzer/Routine - Introduced: Ring of Fire
-Silent Mode - Introduced: White Line Warriors
-Telephone Call Intercept/ Tap/Monitor - Introduced: A Knight In Shining Armor
-Trajectory Guide - Introduced: Big Iron (love scheduling conflicts)
-Ultra Frequency Modulator - Introduced: Goliath
-Voice Analyzer - Introduced: Brother's Keeper
-And of course, the gigolo necklace which was an extension of KITT's commlink.

-During the second season, KITT also began to demonstrate that he could open his trunk lid by himself. Somehow, I don't think that can be attributed to April.

You want to see what episodes these and others appeared in, check out: http://knightridercollective.8m.com/functions.htm

The 'high traction dropdowns' were invented by April in 'Speed Demons' if i am correct.

The 'waterwings' which April called them as, was in the only episode in which KITT goes on water: 'Return to Cadiz'! I believe April also called this method of going on water as hydroplaning.

When a similar topic came up many, many months ago, a good theory arose about how most of April's contributions were thrown out the window in the episode Junk Yard Dog, allowing Bonnie to "pick & choose" what to re-install/re-invent.

And the high traction dropdowns were never really used again, they became traction spikes by season 4.

And KRAvenger, there was a reason why I put the link up. I wanted to conserve on board space. The link sends you to a page where the episodes the features were re-used again are listed.

What about KITT's laser? (from "Goliath")

It didn't survive past the second season (because Bonnie was going to re-install it in "KITT vs. KARR"), but it did manage to show up a second time ("Soul Survivor").

About the theory that Bonnie scrapped April's inventions in "Junk Yard Dog":

That would definitely be a good point in time for Bonnie to do such a thing, because she was essentially starting from scratch. On the other hand, couldn't she have removed some of April's inventions in "Knight of the Drones"? It would certainly explain why the laser had to be re-installed for "KITT vs. KARR", which took place before JYD.

I went off the basis of past the second season, and technically, Bonnie was the one who came up with the laser first in Trust Doesn't Rust. April just seemed to thrive off of it.

And I believe that we did make some original statements in the original thread of this particular topic that Bonnie had gone picking and choosing in Knight of the Drones, which is why KITT was such a big surprise, and why she went to work so dilligently. In JYD, she just struggled to put him back together as quickly as possible.

Alright, now another dumb question. In the end of Return to Cadiz, April uninstalls the hydroplaning feature in KITT since "It has major malfunctions." How is that so if KITT drove on the water, and didn't sink?

I apoligize, KI has made me become too nitpickish

They also make a comment that KITT was very lucky that he didn't sink. Most likely the rest of the scientists figured that there were major flaws, and figured that KITT wouldn't get lucky twice.
