knight rider online

I was watching Knight Of The Juggernaut last night,

I have seen these old looking taxis in Knight Rider and other shows,

does anyone know hat make and model of car they are?
so this was filmed in the 1980's are these an old car from the 1950's?

It's a Checker Taxicab. They were very popular in the US back in the days, just like the black London cabs.
This is the same model used in Taxi Driver with Robert De Niro.
Take a look. These are several ones used in movies.

I guess it makes sense once you tool up to produce them and you make so many of the same car year after year they get cheaper to make.

In Brooklyn, NY they had one of those taxis parked at a corner of a gas station to have them serve as exhibits. If anyone had more of those kinds of taxis to contact an organization.

The exact model was the Checker Marathon.
