Hi,

check out the app that I developed for the android market.

http://slideme.org/application/kitt

This is the first version, I am hoping to add more features to it. Your input on this is appreciated.

I have added a few easter eggs for the real fans. (ask "Who is Michael Knight" and "what is Knight Rider")

Thanks

Kreeda

I was hoping to test it out on slideme first (to see how the response would be like). Anyway I am in the process of finalizing the app for the market. Should be able to release it within the week.

Thanks
Kreeda

I was thinking of your app today at work.Instead of it being just another siri, could you make an additional option to switch to automated response with pre programmed kitt voice clips of oh lets say 2000 I have to offer the project? This way you can ask your phone,What does Kitt stand for and a voice recogniztion part of the software would know to reply this answer "I am the voice of the knight industries two thousand microprocessor.Could you create that system with about 2000 clips?I'd be willing to pay about $5 bucks for that and I know a ton of fans who would probably be willing to pay thousands more on the android marketplace.

2000 clips would be a bit too much to start off with. Sound clips do take a bit of space. Anyway I am strongly considering the idea. (may be a separate app all together)
Thanks.

Will keep you posted.

Well it doesn't have to be 2000.That was a figure.I could take maybe 100 of the funiest or more known replys from the show.

How about adding a scanner feature with sound (like the iPhone app photo seen below). THAT would be completely cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Guys,

As promised you can now download this app from Android Market.

You will need a phone running on version 2.3 or higher.

https://market.android.com/details?id=c ... 5LSVRUIl0.

This is a free 3 day trail / evaluation version. I am having a issue with publishing the full version (paid) as I am unable to setup a merchant account. Will keep you posted. For the moment if any of you want to install the full version, it has to be through the link that I posted in my original post.

http://slideme.org/application/kitt

Check the trial version and let me know your comments.

Btw.. two more easter eggs
try the commands

activate karr as kitt
activate kitt as karr

@Knight Racer - Your request for KITT app with voice clips. Already started on the project. Few design issues that i need to solve first. Will let you know a rough estimate by next week when this could hit the market.

Regards

Kreeda

The voice doesn't sound at all like kitt. Its like the hands free messaging app that uses a computerized voice. If you want to truely make a kr app,I'd use the clips from the show and work on a voice recognition software to make like 30-50 clips answer back. And a good kr interface like the one the kitt voice box/speedometer app has.Great attempt at making an app and I applaude you for your efforts.

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it a lot.
As you have correctly mentioned, I guess “kitt voice box/speedometer” is the app that is heading that way (play clips for voice commands). So I guess me developing the same is a bit pointless.

As developer I am actually trying perfect an application that resembles the kitt’s functionality as well as personality (to a certain extent). Using voice clips will limit the range of things that I can do with it. With text to speech the possibilities are enormous.
For example if your on a long drive, I want this app to be like a companion on your drive. (similar to what kitt is to Michael). Kitt ask a question and you have to answer, and kitt gives you a bit of trivia on the relevant subject.
I know the price that I have to pay for it is the monotonous computerized voice. Who knows may be in the future google may add the kitts voice for its text to speech engine.

Seems that it's not compatible with the mic on my HTC sensation.

its cool!!!!!! though it wont seem to work when i want to call someone. it does nothing then...but otherwise...i love it!!! The personality fits kitt and karr perfectly! hehe
