Hi everyone,

as a mainland european watching the series in original english i'm wondering about one thing: When visitung the u.s. everything is in imperial scales: miles instaed of kilometres, pounds instead of kilograms and feet or yards instead of metres. But in season one, k.i.t.t. is talking and measuring in miles but other things he is measuring in kilograms and metres -for example the examination of bonnys height and weigth in season 1, episode 8 (168 cm, 54 kg). this is just one example reoccurring the whole season. Why isn't kitt using the imperial scales like anyone in the u.s. do ?

I always wondered about the same thing. Why wouldn't they tell us how heavy Bonnie was.I think the reason why was because Patricia didn't want people to know her true weight but rather wait for people to get conversion charts out to figure out the weight.

In the United States, especially in the 80s, the metric system was "futuristic" to us. Being stubborn Americans, we never really bought into it but back then it really did seem that by the year 2000 we all would have using metric. If KITT was supposed to be the car of the future, he might as well use measurement of the future.
