David Hasselhoff talked a little bit about his current projects while signing autographs in Rosemead this weekend. He said that he was in a new movie "Piranha" that is done by the same company that holds the rights to the Knight Rider movie. He hopes that if they like him they'll let him do Knight Rider too because he really wants to do the movie.

This fall, Dimension Films is releasing "Piranha 3DD", a sequel to "Piranha." Dimension Films is a division of the Weinstein Company, which acquired the rights to the Knight Rider motion picture several years ago.

Hasselhoff is not named in the IMDB listing for Piranha 3DD, but IMDB often has incorrect or missing information. I assume that the Hoff only has a small part in the movie.

I don't know what Hasselhoff meant when he said he wanted to "do" the Knight Rider movie. Star in it? Produce it? Both? But it IS good to hear him reaffirm his commitment to the project.

Will deffo be interesting to see how things work out. Would also be interesting to find out who actually holds the rights these days as The Weinstein Company hit pretty rocky ground not too many years ago and ended up being bought out. Here's the holding page for Piranha 3DD http://www.weinsteinco.com/#/film/piranha3dd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
