Festival plans?

I saw in the 'official' thread some discussion about plans happening around the convention. But, nothing seem to have come of it. Just inquiring, as it looks like I have more days to dedicate to this then I first suspected.

Well last year we tried planning on getting together for a meal/drinks - and we wound up at the Buffet. Which was a bad call for a number of reasons, one being that you had to buy the $20+ meal in order to even sit down.

I'd love to get together again this year, but at a better location. Suggestions welcome! Friday night is the VIP party, and Saturday has the cruise down the strip.

But it looks like ~ 6pm Saturday night, we should all be able to get dinner again...

The Shadowy Flight crew are going to be attending the VIP party and trying to catch the drive on Saturday. Early in the evening on Sat works for us for a little get together as well. We can't wait to hang out with other fans!

6pm Sat sounds good to me...but then there is the decision of where...a cafe on the strip or something?

What about Mickie Finnz? It's at the south end of Fremont underneath the garage that will house the KITT replicas. Had a decent lunch there last time: http://www.mickiefinnzlasvegas.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Keep me posted on when you guys and gals are planning to get together and I'll be happy to come along. I had a great time with Neil, Mike, Scott, Sarah, and everyone else despite the complications with the buffet at last year's event.

I'll be planning on hanging out on Fremont a whole lot more, this time. Semi-camping to help avoid missing out on events that wind up happening off the scheduled times. There's this little ice cream shop about the middle of the strip that had wireless internet, last year. I'll probably be using it again to upload footage and keep in touch via the board.

Since work technically let me start vacation early, I'm tempted to head up to Vegas as soon as tonight. But, will probably wait until tomorrow. Was thinking of touring more of Vegas and catch a couple of their famous shows or something. Could also check the web for "things to do in Vegas" for ideas.

This holds some interesting options for non-con days. Has a whole lot of choices; some of which are meal related.

It's a vegas fast pass card. I suppose if one could pack all those into a day, it would be a super bargain. I just don't see how, though.

Also just a heads up for you guys that have never been too Vegas. Fremont Street Casinos will usually give you a buy one get one free ticket too their buffet if you join their card club. You don't have to gamble though and me and my family saved a ton this way :). I wish I was going but I'm in the Labor room right now with my wife having our second child ;).

You all have a great time and hopefully we will see you next year!!!
