I'm looking for a font that looks pretty close.

I found a couple of downloadable ones (knight.ttf and knightfont.tff) but Vista won't install in the fonts folder.

Anyone have any others that would work, and are free.

This one is for the KR08 font. The closest one I can find to the one used on the show that's free. It works on PC/Mac. I use Vista, and it works for me.

There should be some good tutorials on YouTube that you can find that can help you install fonts. :D

Thanks, I am already familiar with installing fonts, finding it was the hard part.

Now I can finish my project for my Illustrator class that I take.

I already made a KITT (not exactly KI2T or KI3T)...

You're welcome, and I hope your project turns out exactly, or even better than you imagined! :D

I was going to make a new topic, but ill post in this one instead. Does anyone know where to download the font, or a similar font used in the knight rider games by Davilex: Which includes:
the menu font
and the fonts where in the missions, the characters talk.

Any help would be very grateful :)

I don't know if your referring to me Victor Kros, but ill post anyways for explaining what i would like. :)

Here's the fonts inside a mission when the characters speak at the begging of a mission: It might be a standard font, but i dont know. lol

Here's the in game text, when the characters speak during gameplay, which is also used in the menus and still frame speakings in the first game:

Hope that helps Victor :) You seem to know an awful lot about knight rider (like that mysterious movie poster!) so hope you can help :)

I am looking into it but it seems to be a very difficult font to track down! Give me a few days to search. I thought it was "Pearl Jam Yield" which is a modified version of "Bank Gothic" or "Fiscal", (also used on Fox's "24") because many of the letters and the "Q" match but the A and the M are way off and your letters are rounded - so it's back to the drawing board on that guess.

In the meantime if other people out there want to take a crack at it, be my guest.

Sooo... I have good news and bad news.

The good news is I'm about 98% sure I identified the font you are looking for.

The bad news is, you're going to have to pay $25.00 for it - just to find out if it's going to work for you.

I was looking at those letters for quite awhile and I finally realized where I had seen that style of typography before and it was in none other than the subtitles for the Indiana Jones movies!

Image

Now I have a few suggestions here for you, depending on how closely you want your font to match the game.

My first suggest is if you really want the correct looking font, go to this website:

http://davidocchino.com/portfolio/typog ... nture.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And buy "Venture" (25.00 to download it), it is the closest match I can find but unfortunately the creator doesn't have the lowercase letters to compare against, just the CAPS, italic along the top (see graphic below) but if you look at the menu uppercase text and the letters across the top, it's pretty much dead on. The only thing I see off is the line in the uppercase "Q" needs to cross over more into the center.

However...

My second suggestion, if you want a cheap and "free" alternative, I suggest downloading a font called SF Fedora Titles. I have used it on various things in the past and it's a pretty close match, however some letters are off like the "y","I", and "j" from a full on match in the game. If you can handle having a small amount of innaccuracy, I suggest you use that font for whatever you need the text for.

Here is my comparison for you to play with against the actual game title fonts.

The third alternative is to alter the font to look like the titles you want but I am unsure how much you know about altering outlines/paths and whatnot in adobe illustrator which is what I use to tweek typography. I think at any rate to get it looking exact you will have to do some modifications unless there is another font out there that I haven't found that matches exactly what you're looking for. I've looked through about 50 typography sites and used various font indentifier programs and this is the best I can do.

I think starting with "Venture" is your best bet to work with in terms of accuracy.

I hope this has been helpful, the rest is up to you.

That's fonts I'm looking for.
You want a Flash font called FFF Estudio Ext Pixel

Image

Here's a comparison - add in some blur and glow and it's pretty much a dead on match - you might want to round the corners of the letters a tad to get it spot on.

Image

You can find it here: http://www.fontsforflash.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's a good bet this is what they started with for the animated menu effects in the backdoor pilot.

(I'm sure taoworm and Matt will find this info useful too)

Enjoy!

Sow, they were use flashfonts for that animation screen.

But that font (by name) I have found it does not only for flash fonts.
See this link: http://www.opendb.net/element/408.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thank you very much.

Yep, looks good to me and your welcome.

Mystery solved.

P.S. - Could the fact they forgot to capitalize "Nanoskin Modification Speed Test" in their list be considered a blooper/goof, considering all the other lines are formatted with upper and lowercase titles? Hmmm...looks like it to me.
