I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but since it deals w/KR08 I thought it was the best one. So please feel free to move to correct forum if it's out of place. thanks

I had found the Ford commercials that aired during the Pilot back in february on Youtube. The ones where MK is trying to go on a date and KITT is "stalking" him, lol. But I guess once they put it on DVD Ford made the guy take them down.

Does anyone know if they added the Ford spots to the Pilot's DVD release?
Cause I as stupid as this sounds, I really REALLY enjoyed watching those!! LOL
Any help in finding them would be much appreciated.

yeah they were really cute. There were four all together. They were really "pushing" the SYNC tech that was "new" at the time.
One was Mike in a Focus and KITT trailing behind as "backup".
My fave was the one where Mike and the date are at a table and they are talking when lights blind them and there's Kitt with his LED going back and forth. Then date scofs at Mike leaves. LOL

Cliche'd but I loved them!

Okay, now I have to see those commercials. Stalker!KITT.

Why couldn't we have the KITT in the commercials? I don't care about the Val Kilmer bit, I just want KITT to have a personality.

yeah that's what i thought too, once the series began. (all except the Kilmer part, lol, cause I like kilmer. LOL)

lol I remember those commercials I had them on my dvr when I recorded it when it aired last year. sadly something happened with the dvr and all of my programs were deleted including that one. but I was able to get a DVD of the pilot free from FYE late last year when I bought any one of their selected universal/NBC season show sets. The only special feature the dvd has is a commentary by Justin Bruening, Deanna Russo, and Dave Bartis.

those commercials were awesome, i love the pilot version of kitt so much more than the series kitt, it looked so much better with the cool steering wheel and the digital instrument cluster and the center lcd moniter voice modulator, and kitts personality was very cool in those commercials, the voice sounded much better in those commercials then it does now.

I know! I wish NBC could take a clue from them! LOL
The bantering between MK & KITT is soo reminiscent TOS. I hope it makes it way to the reboot.

Agreed on all points. Why can't our KI3T be that cool? Also, I liked Mike better then he had longer hair. >_>

As a straight male, I don't care about his hair but I do agree that Mike need's to loosen up a tad, but not too much. Personally I kind of hoped they would take the character and make him a bit self aware, at least to a point where when something ridiculous happens or is said, he reacts in a way a viewer of the episode might to it. Kind of like the whole the whole "my DNA is the key to decypher a code" or whatever from the first episode.

yeah I noticed that that has pretty much been the only time I can think of that Mike responded "realistically" lol
