Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be kicking Conan to the curb tonight for once. A bit strange that he'd appear on another network's show rather than NBC first...

Here is the clip from last night:

It was a bit mixed. He obviously seems hurt about not being involved - but seems positive to the series overall.

I thought David did well in the interview. Not much about Knight Rider, though. Certainly no definitive answer as to whether he'll be involved at all. I liked the comment: "It's like having an Indiana Jones movie without Indiana Jones."

Hm...I really hope he's in the show. There's absolutely no reason for him not to be. He clearly wants to do it.
He may not be in the pilot, but assuming the show survives, I would be positively amazed if he never showed up.
And while I'd be less amazed, I'd still be surprised if the old KITT didn't show up in some way, shape or form.

Anyone here familiar with Highlander? The series only had one episode guest starring Christopher Lambert as Conner Macleud to pass on the legacy from him to Adrian paul's character Duncan Macleud of the clan Macleud)same clan, different vintage). They had many episodes where Conner seemed like he'd show up but never happened and Conner's character was discussed throughout the series. Maybe they will do the same with Michael Knight's name.i can say that they might have Karr back perhapsbut fat chance they probably have many of their own ways to get a new computerized villian car.

He showed up in all the other KRs so far. Even in TKR a bit, I think wasn't it? He did show up in the new KR Movie. So I'm going to be hopeful about the series. We'll see.

Naaa - the Hoff was not involved in TKR.
IIRC - some actor with his back to the viewers pretending to the MK was shown in the final scene of the final ep. Think he said "I am Michael Knight" and left that as the cliffhanger.

"Or at least I use to be" or something like that so they could cop out in actually getting him if they made it to a second season.

I remember reading on Mike Pajaro's website at the time when He posted the letter from Rick Copp. They kept that actor's face hidden because they were going to approach David a second time to play Michael Knight, and if he would turn it down again then they would go to the other actor. I remember an Entertainment Weekly article that said David was invited back to play Michael Knight and be the team leader and He declined saying "Those days are over." Baywatch was still going very strong so He was either unavailable, or was in the middle of rebuilding his relationship with Glen Larson at the time while He was trying to get the feature film started. Which lead to the Revolution Studios deal that fell through.

I think I read the same article or a similar one.I rememebr him turning it down because he was busy with Baywatch. He did offer them advice though.Make the show more about the relationship between the man and the car not just all gadgets or you will loose the fans.I know he said the same thing to the new actor playing Michael Knight's son.The same advice given 10 years later.
