I found this kinda interesting..
The New Kitt has..
- 23 redundant CPU processors
- 36 Terabytes of Ram
- 5G Cell based backup (whatever that is)
Didn't the original Kitt fit on like a 512kb chip or something? I wonder how long till the new Kitt's stats sound silly to us computer nerds.

Well, based on home PC ram increase in the last 20 years (it seems to take about 15 years to go up by x1024, with PCs these days having from 1Gb (which isn't really enough) to 8Gb(if only to justify that 64bit OS

, few (any?) mobos support above this), so it will probably take about 20 years for the 36 Terabytes to seem "normal" for a PC (it's an odd number though, us computer nerds would expect it to be
32 Terabytes right?

). It's a good thing it specifically says RAM there, for storage we'll be into the 10's of Tb's in a decade.
Fortunately both the CPU count (since CPU count alone tells you little about how "powerful" a computer is) and the backup system (since it's just technobabble) are immune to the ravages of time.
Seriously though, only 512kb for the original Kitt? Even non IBM compat computers (commodores etc.) were within a factor of 10 of that within the shows life time.

On a car stat, it said it can do 627miles in 3hrs 17min
(that is not too impressive a car of 190mph, for today's standard you want something that can do closer to 250+mph considering the KI2T was so much faster at its time.)
Didn't KI2T run on virtually any form of fuel - didn't it take part in that environment friendly - fuels of the future car race in an episode and KI2T makes mention of how he is the future type of fuelled car?
The gas concept (inspite of the high efficiency lie seems crap to me).
Oh, also, what happened to Turbo Boost?!

With that, I figured they were trying to get back into the realm of real-life physics rather than tv physics that the original KR used with it's SPM (Hey guys, if we speed up the film in editing, it looks like Ki2t's going really fast.. Awesome!). Though how the hell did KI3T not gain the attention of any cops along that long trek? Ki2t most certainly did.

In that episode, Kitt was actually retrofitted with a different fuel & combustion episode, just so that they could get into that race. I'm sure ya could find a thread on it in the general forum.

i already said in another thread that the ~190mph is the average speed, which you cannot draw conclusions from to regarding KITT's top speed.
