My initial impressions :
I liked that K.I.T.T. didn’t let those bad guys in the SUV die. K.I.T.T. would never ever do that on purpose.
I didn’t mind the lesbianism reference, at all.
What I did mind was the allusion to Mike’s polygamy. What do I tell my 9 year old son? We laughed it off but it still felt awkward. Just a little more imagination guys, there were plenty of ways we could have been shown he was a pure player. Really.
I liked the Mustang. Bumblebee is the Camaro now so that was taken. Personally, my best would’ve been an all-black Dodge Charger. Never mind that Dukes of Hazzard had a Charger. Their remake was so bad it buried the franchise for another 25 years, at least. Someone wanted to have a Trans-Am again. Dude, unless you want to CGI one in there, those cars just don’t exist anymore, how would they be supposed to collect enough of them to work with?
I O.K. the cast, I O.K. new K.I.T.T.’s voice/personality, I O.K. the score, I even O.K. the plot (more plausible, please !!! more scientific facts please !!!)
I HATED that there wasn’t ONE TURBOBOOST !!! Come on, even with the $ they got from Ford for all that slo-mo logo air-time, THEY COULDN’T SACRIFICE at least one? Send one up in the air will ya !?!?! That’s an implausible element people would not only still tolerate, they would eat it up ! I would.
ALL in ALL, I reserve final assessment for a later day. However, I can already say it deserves a passing grade. 6, 7 maybe even 7,5 / 10. More like 6 or 7. But solid enough to deserve continuation. When it comes down to it, YES, I want to see what else will happen to Traceur, Graimans, Mustang, etc… Most importantly, my thirst for an indestructible, 167mi/gal, 627miles in 3h17mn, A.I. car is still far from being quenched. Especially if it starts jumping over things again. Verdict : slight adjustments away from very good series material. I wanna see more.
