As far as I know, the amazon.de thing is a bootleg. Some counties it's okay to sell things like that.

If you want an official, pain-stakingly re-recorded one:

Thanks for the URL. :D

But I doubt that the CD sold on Amazon.de is a bootleg, since Germany is very strict with copyright laws...

Yeah Stu's soundtrack is great!!!! I LOVE It!!! And the main theme sounds soooooooooooo good :D

Know I would really like a AIRWOLF soundtrack, not the one Mark has done, but a soundtrack with origibal music!!! I would like the music from the pilot, I just love Gabriells' theme!!

Yeah, me too!

Mind you, because the budget for "Airwolf" was so high, Sylvester Levay had the oppurtunity of scoring entirely different new cues for each episode he did, and I think for a first OST, it should contain all the 1st Season music, as it was all orchestral, with a few electronic cues, but come the 2nd and 3rd Seasons, gone were the expensive orchestras, and in were the electronic synthesizers.

As far as I know, there is a soundtrack of "Airwolf":

http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... 74-8002443

... and even one of "The A-Team":

http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... 74-8002443
That "Airwolf" CD is NOT an original - it's a fake, as stated here by AirwolfThemes.com (Mark Cairns):

"Just don't mention the two German-based so-called Airwolf soundtracks - "Airwolf: The Wonderweapon" (an insipid excuse for the composers to do their OWN synth music NOT based on the original episodic score from the show at all) and a CD simply entitled "Airwolf", which was another pitiful excuse to release a collection of pop music from the time (which didn't even include the stuff used on the 3rd season of the show such as Dire Strait's "Money For Nothing" or Animotion's "Obsession" -- both from 'Birds of Paradise')."

As for "The A-Team", again, it is NOT an original, but merely a re-production of the original cues, by Daniel Caine, re-recorded in the late Nineties, but still not the same.

The "Knight Rider" OST is the only ORIGINAL television soundtrack available from the 80s, along with Jan Hammer's "Miami Vice" LP.

It arrived here within a week as well, so I was quite chuffed about that.

Hey K12000... Lior and all the others who received your CD. Thanks for all of the compliments. I noticed that the last two posts are from the UK. Don't forget that I will be in the UK on Aug.13-14 at the Memorabilia Show & Convention in Birmingham. I will also be doing a signing in Swindon on Aug. 11 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. I don't know where at this point. Check the usual places for info. The entire original Galactica cast will also be there.

Regards

SP

hi STU/all,

I received my autographed book( "to my pal marc! ;-) ) and CD today. i was listening to the CD in the car. i could just about close my eyes and relive the scenes in my head. its also cool that i hear a lot more instruments then i ever heard on the highly compressed audio that you hear on television. i was also surprised to hear a low piano key note played on the bass stabs in the opening theme! never knew that. the strings and woodwinds really stand out and are very well orchestrated. the remastered tracks are awesome. STU you did a great job! now on to the book!

DAMN! track #15!! that is am amazing SCORE!!! i have not had a chance to play anything after track 15 because 15 is amazing! the build ups, the stabs.. man its hard tibelieve all of this information was missed in the show..

STU, if you are listening (reading?), on track 15 the drummer was gettin' down! i mean he was going to town! on your scores , do you let the drummer do his own thing or does he have to follow your blueprint down to the note? seems he was doing some improv on this particular session.

Hi Marctronixx,

On all of the Drum tracks on the CD, I write out about 50% and the drummer does his own thing on the other half. It also depended on how many takes I did. The more takes I did, the more the drummer became familiar with the orchestration and would relax and improvise a bit more. So happy to hear that track 15 "gases" you out. Can't recall for sure who the drummer was, but it was either, Paul Leim... Steve Schaeffer... Harvey Mason or Bob Zimetti. They were all fantastic.

Heya Stu,

A big thank you all the way from Melbourne, Australia!

I just received my copy of the soundtrack and it's absolutely fantastic. Congratulations on getting it out after all this time. The sound quality is amazing and the informative liner notes are a wonderful bonus. What you've done for the Knight Rider community is a real credit, and I commend you on this effort.

Thank you also for signing the cover - it makes it well and truly a 'one of a kind' collector's item. :)

You can get a 2CD set of Miami Vice at: janhammer.com

Also, techincally, Quantum Leap might count. While the CD features Mike Post's theme (series started in 1989), the rest is from Enterprise composer Velton Ray Bunch (veltonraybunch.com).
So, you could see that as another original 1980's CD.

Also, there is Hitchcock Media's Don Peake "Knight Rider" CD. Original. Should have been mastered by whoever did Stus' CD.

Stu: Did you and Peake ever meet?
(Love the Knight Rider CD, by the way)

Also, there is the pilot score to Star Trek: The Next Generation, "Encounter at Farpoint", by Dennis McCarthy, which is the late 80s.

And yet another 1980's origianl score CD:
http://moviemusic.com/soundtrack.asp?id=fridaythe13th

And yet another:
http://moviemusic.com/soundtrack.asp?id=inspectormorse1

And the original continues:
http://moviemusic.com/soundtrack.asp?id=inspectormorse2

A 3rd volume of original:
http://moviemusic.com/soundtrack.asp?id=inspectormorse3

More original scores, this time a compilation, but msot on it were likely not in the show's premiere in 1989:
http://moviemusic.com/soundtrack.asp?id ... omthecrypt

Twin Peaks:
http://moviemusic.com/soundtrack.asp?id=twinpeaks

There is a promotional CD of Dennis McCarthy's work for "V: The Series".

Composer Joe Harnell, how just past away a few days ago, has some cues on a CD on his site:
http://joeharnell.com/filmmusic_tracks.html
that are from the 80s.

I'm sure I've left off more. But as you can see, there are many more "original score" CDs of 1980's TV.

Now all we need is many CDs of Magnum, pi.

Happily received my CD (also signed by Stu) today and it is hands down the BEST Knight Rider soundtrack I've ever heard. the remastering of the tracks is incredible and the fact that they took the time to dig up as much of the original master tracks as they did so that they could get the most complete restoration possible shows the dedication Stu has to his work and this CD! Absolutely amazing! And to know that I not only have a personally autographed copy of the CD but that it's also limited to 3,000 productions is all the more icing on the cake to what is sure to become one of the rarest and best television soundtracks ever! :-D Thanks so much Stu!
