knight rider online

I liken this episode to baking a cake. They took all the right stuff they put them altoghether baked it for 42 minutes but when they took it out of the oven someone tipped weed killer over it and it was ruined. And even though i enjoyed the episode for the most part the end of the episode blew it. Since seeing it for a second time aswell and i'm trying not to bitch about it and be as fair as i can with comments both positive and negative I have to say i wouldn't have had that plot where Mike single handed storms Area 51, the first time around i didn't think that much of it but after the second viewing and knowing that Groom Lake is one of the most fortified military instalations in the world and seeing photos of the place on google earth this plot became a joke.

I believe star trek script writer D.C, Fontana said when writing a script for sci-fi only put one thing in the script that unbelievable and try to make it believable and thats how to sell it to anaudience.

When talking about a TV show, reality does not exist.
Scripted television programming exist only for the sheer purpose to bend the realms of reality, time, space, thought in order to present to you a world for the show to exist in.

Almost nothing that happens in scripted television actually happen. They're exaggerations of fact portrayed in a light the writers, producers, directors, actors creat for us.

Reality has no place in television.
Even more so in sci-fi programming.
We watch sci-fi to escape reality, not get drenched down in the logistics of what's happening on screen.
It's when we blur the line of what is real and what isnt, do we fault ourselves.

Knight Rider doesn't exist in our world. It exist in a world were car's talk and have a personality, drive themselves and leap over tall objects. A world were cars transform and foundation's with limitless resources send out a billion dollar car to help the little man, or help us all.

Reality is what will destroy our escapism. Don't let it taint Knight Rider.
If you discredit all the things this KI3T can do, you can discredit the things the first KI2T could do.

I don't think its a question of making it real more a question of making it believable and able to work within the boundries of the universe that has been created. KR exists in a fairly real universe with the car being the fantastical element and everything else is grounded to make it more believable to suck the audience in. The best sci-fi that exists does have its fantastic elements but tries to convince the audience that what is happening could happen.
if you just take the edict that because its sci fi anything can happen then next week theres nothing stopping KI3T from driving to mars to save Michael who's been kidnapped by aliens and turned into a bowl of ice-cream.

I would watch that episode! You know, if it was all a dream or something.

they wouldn't be able to film it the visual effects for the Ice-cream would be too expensive and it would have to be cgi ice-cream as real ice-cream would melt under the hot studio lights.

That's a really good point.

And I think it's one of the big problems this show has had thus far.

I'm hopeful that the barrage of negativity about various aspects of the show will at least show the producers that Knight Rider fans have a standard they expect and wont jsut take any nonsense they decide to through into an episode.

Poor KITT though. He can't eat ice cream at all! I guess it would be best for him to save Mike, cause the others might accidentally eat him. >_<

The closest KITT could get to eating ice cream is if they melt it and poor it down his gas tank.

Probably but that would be way to out there even for KR I wouldn't like that because even with all the human characteristics KITT has that is one that should be left to humans not talking super-cars.
