Better green screen. The in car camera positioning on MK seems a little off though, like he has to lean over to stay in frame. The in car close-ups are, well, very close. I guess they're trying to minimise the amount o green screen we actually have to look at in the periphery of those scenes.
Really? still comes across as diabolically bad.
Bad:JB's MK feels way too adolescent.
I've had family watch the show and they all said JB looked like a baby ie too young to be playing the part. DH was what ten years older? Gave the character some gravitas.

Young for the part maybe but heck JB is very convincing as Michael Knight Jnr. I mentioned this in a previous post but JB is good sport, not being afraid of doing his own stuntwork and quite obviously dedicated to the part and his fight training has really paid off, you believe he can actually do what you see on screen. It adds the realism and credibilty needed to become the successor to MK Snr.
IMO, The perfect choice to become the new lone crusader.

Someone just needs to write him better lines, so we can really see him shine.

Hasselhoff wasn't that much older than Bruening when he was cast, only a couple of years but the character of Michael Knight was someone who at the point where he "died" as Michael Long was already a man in his early30s who had a lot of experience. I'm not sure if they've kept the character's date of birth the same as the pilot but Jr. Is someone who's in his mid-20s so he certainly should look younger. There's seven or eight years separating the ages of the characters.

Hasselhoff also looked a lot older in TOS than JB does in TNS.

That he does and it was fitting since the character was older than he is. Though Hasselhoff did have some "baby face" moments.

PLEASE CHANGE THE THEME TUNE; JUST USE THE ORIGINAL IT’S WAY BETTER. GET STU PHILLIPS TO MAKE AN UPDATED VERSION OF IT. THE ONE U USE NOW IS S**T.
Do you really need to resort to shouting? I, for one, like the new theme.
Yo...even Stu Phillips thinks the theme tune there using now is S**T, heard him talkin about it in some interview, think its on this site. not sure though.
the original KITT wrote:
O yeah, this stupid thing Kitt has got. Self recovery, well it doesn’t work. Evident in episode 4 when Kitt goes I can not sustain another hit. GET THE MOLECULAR BONDED SHELL BACK
The MBS wasn't completely indestructible. MK managed to damage the car in the Pilot of TOS, and even in the first episode, KITT mentions he can't take a direct hit from a missile of some description.
Yh well, they have to make KITT vulnerable innit, in order to to show to the audience hes got a weak spot. A misile is different. (huge damage, the shell of KI2T would remain intact and perfect, (only KI2T's electronics would be screwed i.e Knight of the drones... end of season 2 begining of season 3 of TOS) the gun that was fired at KI3T just had an explosive charge to it.

the original KITT is right on the MBS shell
I would think a cross between MBS and Nanotech would make KI3K superior to KI2K. Now wait a minute that would make him a God
i also perfer the orignal theme music

What's wrong with the new theme? I think it's cool! I do love the original as well. I hope they come out with a soundtrack for the new show, just so I can get my hands on that theme!

...Now you're just looking for a gripe.
All right, took me awhile to track it down, not being in the States, but I just saw it and wow. This EASILY eclipses every good episode thus far. Plenty of suspense, driving action, turbo boost, a memorable villain, some non-sexual humor, no T&A at all much less a reliance on it. This was, beyond a doubt, a Knight Rider episode. I was held from start to finish.
Specific praises include the real explosion of the pickup truck, and the very well animated transformation back to normal mode. Its always good to see another new gadget. I also liked that the SSC was cut off so that it could be just Mike and KITT. Having the two split up is also a reminiscent plan (although in the old show it almost always got KITT into trouble).

I noticed, NBC did that in a Heroes webcomic too with the
Northeast Brewing Company.
I actually find it funny
On the theme music, here's my take, since I have
seen both TOS and 08.
TOS theme: Very nice, didnt know that that was possible with 80's music technology. It's lower key, as is TOS itself, compared to 08. 80's theme and TOS compliment each other.
08 theme: more exiting, as is KR08. They too compliment each other.
Though nice, TOS theme added to KR08 content wouldn't work. The tempo of the music wouldn't match the tempo of the show, and the whole thing would fall flat.
Besides, IMHO, the theme is not very important in the grand scheme of things. Just write the thing well, perform it well, make the SFX and VFX look good, and musically score it well, and it's good enough for me. Eps thus far have averaged a B- in those departments for me, this ep about an B+/A-.

theres a couple of things that bugged me for some reason when they drove up to the truck with the phone under it..
a. Why didn't they do a scan of the truck?
b. Why didn't Kitts scanners pick up the phone under the truck?
I can't help feeling that was another missed opportunity for some classic Knight Rider throw-back.

I like the part more where it signaled the gas used to put him to sleep, I'm sure that was a slight jab at NBC.

Regarding old theme tune vs new KR08 theme:
The original is iconic, revolutionary for its time and has aged extremely well (probably due to the canny combination of live real instruments and electronic embelishments).
The new version's strongest points are all based on cues from the original theme, while all the extra "like, totally rocking xtreme guitar" bits and squelchy dance DJ effects instantly date the show to the early 21st century.
Let's see if the new theme is being sampled in chart hits 20 years from now!
As for the "Nancy Bravo Charlie" protocol thing, it made me laugh.

I don’t agree, but your entitled to your opinion. The right theme music and the music played within the show is very important. Anyone watched James Bond - Casino Royale?? This movie doesn't play the theme music in the movie, apart from the last dyeing seconds. Literally. The movie is actually very good but could have been awesome if it had the Theme Music in it.
Without the original theme it just doesn't feel like a continuation of the original!
The tempo can also be changed, TOS didn't just plonk the theme tune in the show, they made revisions to it in order to complement the scene. i.e. car chase, fast high temp Knight rider beat or if they were just tracking the car a nice slow beat.

what if Dr.G does not really die, remember in the movie he was in hiding, what if he goes back into hiding b/c he knows that Torres is going to reactivate KARR, and decides to remake KI3T into the 2010 mustang or something like that.
