How could you hate this car? I love it! Imagine if they would do a bit more closer to firebird look for a new Firebird or T/A... and KITT could then be in the movie with a new updated look! Hey, you gotta admit that nose looks a bit like someone's we know and love. ;)

I really like the fact that the cars are starting to get less rounded. The nose is dart-shaped. I love dart-shaped noses. Ok, I'm biased. Not just because of KITT and KARR but because my car also has a dart-shaped shnozz. :)

Traditionally, what made pony cars so successful was that they were affordable and easily modifiable. From what I'm reading, this new concept is basically a Corvette powertrain with a new body and four seats. Isn't that the same recipe that killed the F-bodies in 2002?

NOT BAD

Post by knghtrdr » Tue Jan 10, 2006 9:31 am

I like the camero exterior, but the interior to me sucks! I don't care much for todays cars, they all look alike and lack muscle car design!

But the new camaro has great body lines,I love the curves!!!The interior is too new wave,I would go blind looking at it....yuck!!!!

That Camaro looks like the 1960's 1st gen Camaro and to me it looks more like Jackson & Brown's old Firebird than KITT. KITT was sleek, futuristic, modern 80's car compared to the Jackson & Brown's Firebird and that's why I can't see that Camaro as a KITT, even if it comes in Firebird version. Unless of course the new Firebird would resemble the 3rd gen Firebird... ;)

The new Camero is pretty cool looking as well. I'm actually a pretty big fan of the new retro muscle cars. They look sleek, edgy, and most importantly, POWERFUL! But it just really comes down to personal taste in the end though.

Why thank you. Im no longer alone here. Two's an army. 8)

Some Retro themed cars suck these days. I mean, I'll give Ford the credit (something I never do) for the Mustang. They were the first to come out with a sucessful Revival. Now Look over at the Dodge camp. The Charger came back. Bulkier than before and a 4 door! Now they have the Challenger, which I'll give credit for. Then We have GM trying to hop on the Bandwagon with the New Camaro. With something that long and bulky, it should of stayed dead.

Now heres Toyota. They are planning on releasing the new FJ in a few years. I've seen this car a few years at the NY International Auto Show. Horrible design.
Here it is in it's golden days. (Gotta love your older Toyotas 8) )

And here we have it, the newly redesigned version. (EWW, DIE!)

OK I'll retract my statement a bit, I'm not a fan of all retro cars. The Charger is ugly and is a weak representation of the original muscle car and that Toyota is just plain hideous! It looks like it should be roving the moon, not riding the streets. The reason that all of these car companies are jumping on the band wagon is because of the success of the new Mustang. Ford made a huge leap in bringing it into production and is making huge profits from it. I'm not sure now, but I do know when the new Mustang was first released there was a waiting list to buy one. Other auto manufactures see Ford's success and decide to produce their retro car hoping to create the same results. When you really look at it, all it comes down to is business. If the retro cars sell, they'll keep being produced. All right, end of my car rant. :P

What would be so wrong to keep Knight Rider with a familiar car, seems to me this car has the muscle look and looks quite fast!

I bet KITT would love this new shell!!!![img][img]
