What famous vehicles would you like to see in 1/18 scale?

Post by Zeitgeist » Thu Jul 14, 2005 6:42 am

After looking forward to buying KARR and seeing, that even the Blues Brother´s police car will be available soon, I came up with a list of (more or less) famous vehicles from movies and tv shows, that I would like to made into 1/18 scale die cast models.
So here goes:

-The A-Team van
-The Ferrari from "Magnum, P.I."
-The Ecto-1A from "Ghostbusters II"
-The DeLorean from "Back to the Future III" with the correct sized wheels and the "train version" of it
-Goliath from "Knight Rider"
-The trailer from "Lost World - Jurassic Park" (along with the modified Mercedes M-Class)
-The black Thunderbird from "Elvira - Mistress of the dark"
-Last, but not least, I´d like to see an 1/18 scale version of "Airwolf", with retractable landing gear, guns and rocket launcher; this could be made entirely out of plastic, just like the 1/18 scale planes and helicopters from 21stcenturytoys and Dragon/BBI

What vehicles would you like to see made? :D

Man, I wish I could afford a 1/18 KITT or KARR! But, even if I could, I'd not only get those, but these (Keep in mind I don't know what is available in 1/18 or not) :

KIFT

Trigger (Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am - I am nearly done with a 1/24 scale I think it is, with metal body!)

Herbie (even new one)

Dukes of Hazard charger

My 1987 Pontiac 6000!

Ram-Air 2000+ year Trans Am/Firebird or whatever those cool looking ones were :)

Pontiac Firehawk

1957 Chevy Bel Air

1972 Corvette

The Semi from Knight Rider (the black/gold version)

Ok, so some aren't so "famous" but hey, they'd sure make a nice addition to my collection. :)

If you really want to see these kinda cars get produced ,you should forward an email to ertl.com and hopefully somebody over there will listen?....I had to send over (3) email to ertl back about 4 yrs ago on what I wanted to see as far as new products go!....they even send me back a questionaire and I filled it out and forwarded it back to them!....ohh yeah the herbie fully loaded might be getting released through readioshack as a Exmod!...the zipzap version is already out!...gthe 1:18 scale size general lee charger and bandit trana am is already out too!

and the 82' recaro most likely will be out by years end!

If you want to keep up with the diecast series you can also register online at diecastreplica.com through ertl!

KIFT

Trigger (Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am - I am nearly done with a 1/24 scale I think it is, with metal body!) It is availible as a 1/18 from AMT/Racing Champions part of the JoyRide series same as KITT

Herbie (even new one) 1/18 of OLD school herbie from the previous movies from Polar Lights 2 versions clean new looking herbie, and dirty graphiti and rusty version from Herbie Goes Bananas!

Dukes of Hazard charger 1/18 diecast from AMT/Racing Champions part of the JoyRide series

My 1987 Pontiac 6000! im pretty sure that will come the same time they offer a 1/18 diecast of a 2000 Dodge Stratus :P

Ram-Air 2000+ year Trans Am/Firebird or whatever those cool looking ones were :) i only saw the 93-97 generation Trans Am in 1/18 one of them was retooled into the 98-02 style for a 99 30th anniversary Trans Am model

Pontiac Firehawk none at all sorry

1957 Chevy Bel Air there are TONS of them in hard top and or convertable AMT makes a GREAT one;)

1972 Corvette thats a reall odball year not very popular with scale model replicas. of that generation 68-82, they made 1/18s of the 68, the 78 both as a 25th anniversary Vette, and a black/silver INDY 500 pace car. Also I THINK a 82 as a the silver/dark silver two tone COLLECTORS EDITION built as a LAST of the 3rd gen corvettes
8)

The Semi from Knight Rider (the black/gold version) nobody makes models of semi truck in that scale, TOO BIG

Ok, so some aren't so "famous" but hey, they'd sure make a nice addition to my collection. :)
Hope that helps ya out fuzzie :D

Dave, as usual, a BIG help and a big Thank You! :) Too bad I can't get one of my 6000.

BTW, the Trigger model (which I just completed) is actually a 1/25 scale kit.

sheltonw3: I think I just might do that - email some model companies. Don't think they'll do anything but we'll see. :) I might try to get a few other 6000 owners to also pitch in. That'd be cool!

I hear you! I want 1/18th scale models of a gold 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and a white 1989 Pontiac Grand Am SE. They're pieces of crap, but it's sentimental value 'cause I owned 'em!

Oh, yeah... Some more cars to add to my list:

- Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters II
- 1988 Pontiac Banshee
- Train version DeLorean from Back To the Future Part III
- 1993 Dodge Stealth/Mitsubishi 3000 GT
- Batmobile from Batman (1966)
