The most obvious nitpick in the entire series

What to you guys is the most noticeable nitpick in a Knight Rider episode????
For me i think its the use of the First K.I.T.T in the pilot with the scanner on the very very front ...and not having the custom noise.

I think the nose is 10 times as subtle as the voice box with the huge letters saying "Knight 2000" on them in the pilot!

For me it was that obvious hump behind the driver's seat when Kitt was supposed to be driving

For me, it is the round steering wheel that appears in virtually every episode.

That terrible (and incorrectly designed) model that sinks into the chemical pit in Junk Yard Dog.

Its not so much the hump behind the seat for me, its actual height of them.

Normal cruise - you can just see the top of the seat through the windshield.

Auto cruise - The top of the seat isnt that far from the T-tops ! sometimes they were wonky aswell. e.g. in lost knight when KITT is following Doug, one seat is much higher than the other.

I will say the most annoying nitpick in my opinion is the pilot episode with the stock front with the slim scanner.

For me, the most obvious nitpick is in Many Happy Returns, when the hovercraft was firing missiles at KITT, you can see a big smoking hole after he is hit with a missile showing another layer of his skin. I say it was the most obvious to myself becuase I noticed it years ago before I even started nitpicking.

I would also go with the round steering wheel. The way the camera angles and just the way it was handled on the whole, was quite terrible but this is a 80's tv show. Obviously, more care would have gone into it if it had been a movie.

Also, the hump behind the seat and the seat being heightened to suit the heighth of the 'invisible' driver.

For me, it had to be the fact that Michael never looked at KITT's voice box when he spoke to him, but always towards the center console. When i first started watching the show, i always thought thats where the voice box was located. Heh, i was pretty shocked when i realized its right in front of his face.

The one I remember is a helicopter one, I think it's early on and there's a short shot of the helicopter dashboard with the words "Helicopter test stunt" or something like it. How silly!

I try not to nick pick the pilot to death, seeing as how it was in a constant state of evolving ideas as it ran through production.

For an even greater example of this, I try ti recommend FOX's short lived and very doomed show Mantis. (I believe it was called.) The pilot was SO DIFFERENT from the short lived series, it was hard to tell that anything from the pilot even survived.

The round steering wheel appeared throughout the series, not just the pilot. It is almost as fun and common and the brown hump.

The most times the round wheel appeared, was in Slammin Sammy's I think. I think it was a matter of just bad camera direction. Obviously the person couldn't direct for his life!

I love where in pilot, kitt is stolen, he drives back to micheal, and when kitt parks up you can see a arm from under the seat go off the steering wheel, down the side of the door!!

Also, skav, im slammin sammy the whole dash is conpleatly diffrent at one point, with dials and clocks instead of digital stuff - i think its when hes talkin to that bloke about earnig 50 times what micheal makes. (forgotten his name )

PERSUIT MODE, i never noticed that. good one! the round wheel was just catching my eye all the time. but i did notice one dash which had nothing in it at all..the same thing at the end of the pilot ep as dev and Mike get out of kitt to walk up to the plane.

that has got to be my most annoying nitpick. it drives me nuts. watching micheal looking off to the side when KITT's voice box was right above the steering wheel, right in front of him. I scream to myself. "look forward dammit!" drove me nuts for the longest time.

the director's probably wanted him to do that so it shows the audience that he was talking to kitt. so they had to exaggerate the angle of him looking, a little bit.

it would seem kinda boring for him to just look down in front of him.

Or the pickup mic, or the voice that was piped in to him didn't come from straight ahead, and he just naturally turned to the side.

Did they have to do a 180 EVERY time they backed out of the semi? heh Then again, I haven't seen the show in years. It just seemed like they did that every time. One thing that also got me was how it did matter if KITT was on pavement or in sand, his tires would squeal on takeoff. Very interesting.

Actually, the one-eighty thing can be explained, generally they would have wanted to head out of the general traffic area (therefore heading out of town) to do such a maneuver, so that there would be little interference while spitting KITT out the back end of a moving semi. So, Michael would have had to turn the car around to continue on. And actually, it didn't happen every time. There were a few episodes where KITT sped alongside the semi.
