Question about kitt replicas?

Post by ramon88us » Fri Dec 05, 2003 11:21 pm

In kitt replicas does the voice box move along with the music. Making it look like if kitt is singing in a different voice.

From what the scematics I have for the display say, yes. You can wire 'em into your raido like that.

Or a computer, separate voice chip, whatever.

I tried making one a few months ago and just don't have the technical know just yet. I have the schematics and parts and everything still. I though it would be funny to see KARR voice display squaking in sync with Kylie Minougue :)

It would be cool if you could record kitts voice off the show on tape and put it on a replica and pretend youre asking him something and he'll answer back at you just to show off.

There are pre-programmed voice chips that show up on ebay every now and then. You can run them into the voice display and have a designated button set up on the switch pod to activate that particular phrase.

My thought when I was planing on making a KITT would be to wire it to a CB interface, but that was when my friends and I were big into CBs which I haven't touched in 8 yrs or so. That way anyone could control the voice box pretty easily..

KITT Replica

Post by KnightRider2000 » Sat Dec 06, 2003 12:17 pm

If you download KITT voices off the interent and then burn them on CD, you can put it in your car (providing you have a cd palyer installed) and make it look like kitt is acutalluy talking, and the voice display will move.

Yeah, that is part of the reason I am doing a KARR replica. The red scanner is very illegal in California. Yellow is OK :)

Would it be possible maybe to set up like a speaker phone like device attached to ur cell. So that the person you are talking to will be the one on kitts voice box.

I'm pretty sure the Voice modulator can respond to any audio input. So you could purchase a system for your Cel phone that hooks it up to your sound system, and then you would be able to have the system you describe.

Thats what I wanna do here in the near future.. But you would need a small amp. to put out a stronger signal from your cell phone ear piece.
I have thought of this way before I got my replica. And I think it would
work great once it's done.

Tony.

I will be taking a trip to Ontario in July to see my brother.
I will be driving my KITT replica there. My brother lives in
Cambridge.

I have family up there! But that is way to far to drive a KITT replica! Are you sure you wanna put on that kind of mileage? lol
