Now You Can Make Your Own Knight Rider Movie.

Post by EdwardKnoxII » Fri Nov 21, 2003 12:22 pm

Welcome to the Box Office Oracle, your one-stop film prognosticator. Always wondered how much a Luis Guzman/Danny Trejo buddy cop movie would do? Trying to convince your buddy to put up the funds for a William Fichtner musical? Want to know what critic would most like to see an animated family film starring Christopher Walken?

Wonder no more! Just enter the info for your proposed film, and the Box Office Oracle will tell you exactly how much money your film will make, whether it's got a shot at an Oscar, and which critics will like it (and which won't).
Alright folks lets see how well you can do a KR movie. :D http://oracle.chucklehound.com/

That stinks... I tried doing it and the link to "Full List of Actors" and etc aren't working. I wanted to see if D.H. was listed. Crap.

A much better simulator. I produced Knight Rider with Jerry Bruckhimer, and it was directed by Dominic Sena and Joel Schumacher. It had an all star cast and went through about 7 script revisions before I got the right one. I ended up breaking records with a 210 Million Dollar opening weekend (I released it in July) and it ended up making 1billion world wide after video games, and action figures.

The game is pretty cool, you can do test screenings, get critic reviews, go to the grammy's, and ect. A totally awesome simulator if your into games. Sorry to sound like an ad campain, but I really did enjoy the game! You can also play on the net and you can have other studios (your friends) making movies against you to see who will be the biggest money maker at the box office.

If I were to do my own Knight Rider story starting from scratch, I feel like using a cast of African-Americans:

KNIGHT RIDER: THE MOVIE (PG-13)

Starring Will Smith (Michael Knight), Samuel L. Jackson (Devon Miles), Morgan Freeman (Wilton Knight), Halle Berry (Bonnie Barstow), Orlando Jones (voice to KITT) and Michael Clarke Duncan (voice to KARR)

Release Date: May 7, 2004

Genre: Action-adventure and science-fiction

Running time: 126 minutes

People always wondered what the story would be like if Michael had been black. I think recreating the story should play it that way. The movie would basically just start out redoing the pilot episode only in the form of a movie. But to keep it from being a complete copycat, we actually give the story a villain which I believe KARR should make an appearance to give KITT a fair fight. Do more than just have Michael seek revenge against the ones who shot him and left him to die.

Knight Rider: The Shadowy Flight (PG)

(Action/Sci-Fi/Buddy Cop/TV Adaptation)
Starring Tom Cruise and Natalie Portman
Also Featuring Christopher Lee and Kate Beckinsale
Directed by M. Night Shyamalan
Screenplay by David Hayter

Projected Budget Range: $40 - $50 million
Planned Release Date: August

Projected Box Office Receipts:
$12.64 million (Opening Weekend)
$67.06 million (Total Domestic Gross)

Chance of getting Oscar Nomination: 2%
Chance of winning at least one Oscar: 1%

Critic Most Likely to Praise: Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
Critic Most Likely to Skewer: Stephen Holden, New York Times

Bah, I wanted Paul Verhoeven to direct it, and Ian McDiarmid to be my supporting actor. Neither were on the list. Oh well

Yea, it surprised me as well. Heh. Your movie might be making more, but it isn't making any profit! Costs 130-140 to make, and your domestic is under that. ;)

And KITT: I guess Comedy doesn't sell? Weird.

I really don't see Guy Pearce as the role for Michael Knight. But since he has a resemblance to Pierce Brosnan (at least I think so- as if they could be cousins), he could be Michael Long and then Brosnan would take his place after getting shot and having plastic surgery. Knowing Pearce as a police detective in L.A. Confidential, I could see him running around as Lt. Long. Brosnan would be a better choice for the action as Knight. Especially after seeing him in all those James Bond movies. But he would have to somehow lose the accent. The British speaking is for Devon. An excellent choice for him would be Ian McKellan. But Patrick Stewart is just fine.
