A car that drives on water!

Post by Knight2000 » Sun Aug 31, 2003 1:52 pm

I was gonna provide a link to the news article but the website buggered up, so I just tore out the article and scanned it in. Apologies for the large image (original size was gonna be 70MB!).

Anyhoo, some company just made a car that can drive on water, kinda like in Return to Cadiz and Knight Rider 2000, albeit with different mechanisms. Although at £60k, it's expensive, you won't have to settle for the 'seaways' cheat in GTA: Vice City to experience what Michael did.

your picture isn't working
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

Copy the picture url to your clipboard. That should work.

Dutton Motor Cars (http://www.timdutton.com) has been making a similar type of Amphibian since 1994 but at a price of about £25,000. Doesn't go as fast as this new one though--essentially a Suzuki with a boat hull attached!

D'oh! Grrrr...

Sorry bout the pic not working, but I thought using Imagestation would be okay. It didn't complain when I linked the pics of Britney and Madonna from the VMAs but when I do something like this.....it's just as bad as Geocities. Imagestation was recommended to me for image-linking but obviously, it's flawed.

Anybody found a host that's just as good for hosting and linking images?

The image is working now, it could be just that you were over your bandwidth for the time.

The interesting thing about this new version is that it can actually look like it belongs on the open road, while the previous version obviously has feelings of a boat.

Hehe cars that go on water. Man they have been making them since the 40s. I want to see flying cars now.

KITT
Lady: "I bet you're tall, dark, and handsome."
KITT: "I'm definitely dark and handsome, I'm only tall when I'm climbing a steep incline."

Here's the 30-second blurb we had on our local news. No offense to KIFT, but this car looks cooler in the water.

760k, QuickTime.
