KITT Buddy Icon

Post by Knight Ranger 83 » Wed Jul 16, 2003 1:20 pm

Does any know if a AIM Buddy Icon of KITT's voice modulator exists on the net? If so, does anyone have it or know where I could download it? Thanx.

How do you put them on AOL 8.0 it only lets me put the ones they have. Is there way you change that and put a KR one in?

I looked in most websites that have custom buddy icons but none of them seem to have it. I could make it myself if someone told me how to do it.

P.S.
What's your AOL screenname, Dumbledore? I keep getting a broken link when I click for it on your reply.

You know I remember posting in a topic like this a while back saying the exact same thing. Did you actually make it or did you take it from someone else?

I've made a few Knight Rider AIM icons; you can find them hosted on my site here.

Clicking on an image will set it as your default AIM buddy icon. The background appears dark as it is transparent and is showing the page behind; when used in AIM it will appear as the normal, lighter grey.

You got exactly what I need KRR! The only problem is that when I click on the KITT 2 icon, i get a broken link and the icon doesn't appear on my AIM. How can I correct this?

I tried it myself and it worked--were you signed on to AIM at the time? 'Fraid they've been made for the AOL IM service only; I don't think that MSN has the option of a buddy-specific image. If clicking the link doesn't automatically set the icon as your personal default, you can also try to do it manually:
  • --Right-click on the icon you want, select "Save Picture As...", and save it to your hard drive.

    --Sign on to AIM

--In the "People" menu, select "Select Buddy Icon..." to get to the Buddy Icon control panel

--Click the "Browse PC" button, locate the image, select it, and voila.
Hope that helps. :)

yeah, MSN and yahoo don't have an option for specific buddy images.. however cheetachat (which is another client to use for yahoo chatting) has avatars, which are about the same size as buddy icons.

MSN 6 I believe allows Buddy Icons now. Give Microsoft enough time, and they'll "be influenced" by other instant messanger clients.

MSN 6 is really cool. I don't favor yahoo much at all. The new MSN does let you use avs, and it gives you a chance to set you own background (Using knight rider Pics are a must!!! makes it look real sweet)

Yup, sure does. Sadly animated images don't seem to work though. :(

Perhaps this will be in 6.1 (out late august)
