Do you think the Pontiac Rageous would be a current K.I.T.T.

Post by Nicholas Knight » Tue May 14, 2013 12:51 am

I went to a local thrift store and happened to find a Hot Wheels toy of the "Pontiac Rageous". It looked very KR like, so I looked up some info on it. A concept car that later had influences on the later gen Firebirds. I wish I could edit the pic to make the car black with the scanner and the 82 styled hubcaps....(Knight Racer....lol)

I think I saw that car when I was 15 and bought 2.I used to think they would have looked great as drone cars for knight of the drones.

The paintjob on them looks like something from tokyo drift or a fast and furious movie.

Here's my kitt-a-cized version of it.

Why would you want 1982 wheels on a newer KITT?? That makes no sense at all. I noticed a lot of people do that when they do photo shop of newer cars.

prolly because even today they are more aerodynamic than most of todays wheels (never will understand how car makers think a brick i.e. any chrysler car, et al, is more aerodynamic than a wedge i.e pretty much any Ferrari/super car) that and the fact those wheels...they are KITT as much as the red scanner is.

If you go by that, then keep the PMD seats, interior, fenders, doors, bumpers, ect... cause they all KITT

Well, by that token, why even have a red scanner at all? Or even have the car talk? Or be black? Or turbo boost? The doors swings both ways.

Even the JJRebootams Star Trek[/b] re-design kept many of the aspects of the original TOS 1701, rather than say it's got to keep all of it cause it's all identifiable.
And when things appeared to get better, they got worse, and everyday was a day to cry.

The red scanner, the car talking, black car, all gadgets, turbo boost, is KITT.

The 1982 turbo cast wheels are only for the original KITT.

Personally I consider having the Bowling Ball rims on a current KITT kinda a homage to the Original. Although the predecessors had basically factory (TKR) or slightly modified (K4000) (K2010) (K3000 base form), I did like the 08 Tv movies black Attack mode rims as well as the 08 Tv series attack mode rims (reminded me of the Custom KITT ep in Season One.)

Thats what I say. A modern car with modern wheels, preferably black with silver lip.

I did that with my 2000 T/A. C6 Black Corvette wheels with silver lip.

Sweet Car!!!! Now seeing that, doesn't it seem like the Rageous, in black, with or without the Bowling Ball Hubcaps would be an update of KITT....and the FireBird T/A????

Seems a mix of the 4th Gen. T/A a Cadillac and something else.

Ooh, now that's one sweet car! Love it. Too bad it never got beyond the concept stage in it's original form. I wouldn't mind having one. :D
I wouldn't touch that one with a ten-foot drive shaft!
