Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
Hey Guys
I'm new here. Pleased to meet you all.
I am a little confused about how many Hot Wheels 1:18 models of KITT there are?
Is there a an ELITE and then a SUPER ELITE?
Regards
Thanks

Great news!!! It seems that you were right when you said that were only the tires that could be fixed.DanielB wrote:
The rims have a 2.2cm diameter btw, so perfectly in scale.

can you tell me, can the model sit back in the box again and be put away once you have assembled the t-tops?
Yes, it can. It's packed like that to survive transit. For the price paid, nobody wants to receive damaged goods.

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
I got mine today. I bought it on Ebay. Overall, I'm pleased with the detail. There is a slight issue on one of the back wheels as there is a little gap between the tire and the spoke wheel but other than that everything looks ok. The wheels themselves look fine and much better in person. The scanner flows back nicely although I would have preferred to see the eight LED's much more clearly.
Oddly, this model has now made me think twice as to whether to purchase the Super Elite because having all of them illuminations in that tiny dashboard may not be worth it. But we'll see.

guys, do the seats wobble around in your 1:18 KITT?
I got mine today and both front seat seem to sort of wobble around a bit
was just curious, thanks.

Very nice. Did you release both ejector seats?
I'll be taking some photos tomorrow in my mini-studio, so I'll post up some shots alongside the RC2 Ertl version for comparison.

yeah I ended up and worked out the seats, they are a bit....dicky, not sure how much pressure you need to put on them to push them back into place, but yeah I'll be leaving mine as is
you need a tissue handy is you will leave finger prints all over the paintwork!
it is quite simply a lovely model
-paintwork and finish.....great!
-details.....great
-overall design and model......great
I love the light up scanner, that's really cool, it fades and speeds up and is great, (you can tell I'm happy)
I like the fact they have used a thicker cardboard for the outer box, it just feels better, on other HW Elite Models the cardboard on the box is almost paper thin, which just feels cheap.
this is a lovely model, so glad I got it.

I did notice the seats seem a bit flimsy pushing them down. You basically have to push them down evenly so they'll latch. On mine you can't really fold the driver's seat forward much before the seat pops up on it's own.

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
On the HW website it says that
"Limited Edition: no more than 10,000 pieces"
http://www.hotwheels-elite.com/model-ca ... ousand.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Is this true?
It dosen't mention this being a limited edition on the box or anywhere that I can see.
thoughts?
Usually anything limited edition would be numbered or have something on the box or inside to indicate this fact.

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
Fortunately my seats don't seem to be as sensitive as others. I wish they hadn't put ejector seats in though, it's a really silly thing to add to a collectors item. I'd much rather have had some extra details, like carpets on the floor or windows in the doors.

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
My ejector seats are perfect, comparing to my other problems with the paintshop. But I also think the ejector seats are unnecessary - more important would be to lean the seats more back for the 2m driver this is definately no chilling-cruising position for this car.
Is it just my opinion, that the interior color is a little to bright?
Perhabs I am starting to make some modification like the tow bar, to let the big box underneath the front disappear as good as possible. Furthermore I will try to add an additional reflektor to the scanner light in order to make the LED more visible (but this is just an idea). I also prefer to remove the black frame on the trunk hatch, but this seems to be very difficult because of the metal frame where the hatch is attached.
Any idears?

Hey Mr Smith, just wanted to say i just checked out the photos you took of your hot wheels elite kitt, and they're pretty cool.If you don't mind me asking, is kitt's voice modulator the square box, or does it have the 3 lines?[i ask, because even though you took some close up photos of kitt's interior, it's still hard to tell which voice modulator it is].Cheers!MrSmith wrote:..

Very nice! Also having to paint 3 separate lines in a tiny space within the voice modulator in 1/18 scale can be a pain which is why its just solid red instead
