Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome

Post by Matthew » Sat Nov 10, 2012 7:41 pm

Hey guys,

I'm not sure how many of us watched the re-imagined series of BSG, but I figured since there was quite a few of us who'd chat about it back when it was on, I'd let you know that the webisode series Blood & Chrome began airing on Friday night. There's ten parts in all from what I understand, and they're airing on the YouTube channel MachinimaPrime over the next few weeks, before being shown on TV early next year.

Parts one and two were pretty darn good considering the bad press it was getting, and whilst the grand old lady has more teeth during the Cylon War, everything should still feel pretty familiar to anyone who watched the series from start to finish. :good:

They did a great job so far seeing as there are no actual sets for this series. All CGI.

Love that they have a lot of the old school cylon ships and basestars in it. Also cool to
see the Galactica with ALL of it's body panels attached as well as a BUTT load of Guns
on the hull. I am watching every friday.

They are running new mini episodes every friday until January.

You know, in just twenty minutes, the tapestry of RDM's universe has become so much richer. There are now four distinctive configurations of the basic Galactica design:

Galactica - Heavy armour and weapons (Blood & Chrome)
Columbia - Heavy armour and standard weapons (Razor)
Galactica - Medium armour and standard weapons (Miniseries)
Archeron - Light armour and unknown weapons (Blood & Chrome)

Considering we've only seen a fraction of what B&C has to offer, I can't wait to see what else the producers have up their sleeves. I know there's a Defender complete with its flight pod in one of the trailers, and since it was missing from the model in the series, it looks like they've decided it should be in service during the wartime era. Let's just hope we get to see even more after B&C finishes. :good:

Wow,

These 4 episodes have been better than the whole last few seasons of the actual series.

Next friday can't get here quick enough.

The CGI was off in quite a few scenes but still, two more great episodes.

Unfortunately, I think we're beginning to see the budget limitations of a full green screen project. One positive to take from this though, is that they've laid the groundwork for future webisode movies, and you can bet if the DVD sales are high enough, SyFy will want another go around the horn. :good:

True,

No matter what, I am enjoying it so far!

I think it is just the two of us watching too. LOL.

Are there more episodes after this or was that it?

I don't recall how many mini episodes where planned.

This should have been picked up for a series.

That was the final part of this story, but one of the head honchos at the SyFy channel has said that if the ratings are good, then (like we thought) there's a very good chance we'll get another installment. :good:
