Knight Rider: 25th Anniversary

Post by Vincent » Sun Apr 03, 2011 9:51 pm

As most of you are already aware. On 04/04/1986, the Final Episode of the Fourth Series of Knight Rider - Voo Doo Knight - aired, marking not just the end of the Season, but the end of the Original Incarnation of Knight Rider.

It would be four years before Michael Knight, KI2T, and Devon Miles - R.I.P. Edward Mulhare - returned in Knight Rider 2000, a failed attempt to revive the franchise. Three years after, Knight Rider 2010, effectively an all-out remake of the series, that never made it past the TV Movie. Another three years later would see the arrival of Team Knight Rider, the only follow-on that lasted one complete season - and no more.

Finally, Knight Rider 2008, which consisted of one Pilot and one cropped season before its cancellation.

But this is about the Original Series, and the adventures of the first Michael Knight and KI2T. The growth and development of their distinct characters as each season progressed, their good and bad times. The way they bonded as a family. The laughter, the joy, the pain, the tears, everything they experienced, the lives they changed for the better, and not just the ones in the show, the ones in real life as well.

The people from around the world, united by the show, working tirelessly to keep it alive, through fansites, fanfiction, conventions and replicas. Never allowing the Spirit of Knight Rider to die, always keeping the flame lit. To all of you who work to keep Knight Rider alive, thank you.

Personally, I believe that 'The Scent of Roses' was the absolute best knight Rider episode ever made, and would have been a perfect way to end the fourth season, which may have happened had they known there wouldn't be a fifth season.

They truly did make a difference, in more ways than they could have thought possible.

Knight Rider - The Original Series: 1982-1986.
