Knight rider cartoon/comic book

Post by Nicholas Knight » Tue Mar 08, 2011 4:12 pm

As popular as Knight rider has been these past years, I've always wondered why wasn't there ever an animated series or a comic made??? In believe an 3D animated movie would be cool, myself..

There is one that's an adaptation of the episode "Killer K.I.T.T." in French:

And I know there is a short adaptation of the Pilot somewhere, but can't find it.

There are also two rather expensive Japanese Mangas as well - Volume 1 & 2. One of which (Vol 2, based on Soul Survivor) has Adrianne Margaux getting topless to seduce Michael. Also in the Mangas, Michael uses a machine gun.

I have digital files of both thanks to my south african brother Gerann. The artwork is actually pretty decent for an anime interpretation of episodes of the series. They are (in no particular order) Knight of the Phoenix, Trust Doesn't Rust, A Knight in Shining Armor, Return to Kadiz, Knights of the Fast Lane, and Soul Survivor.

Maybe I'll dig out some (family friendly) pages and post them up later.

Here's the Knight Rider Mangas I told you about earlier - notice that unlike western magazines/comics, you read mangas right to left. Here's a page from each episode. You'll notice the violence tends to be more apparent as these were slated for a more mature audience. In some instances like Kadiz, K.I.T.T. even has offensive weapons like missile launchers and Michael uses a sub-machine gun.

Great scans Nick :D I've been after those books for some time..!!

Don't forget there was a Knight Rider strip running in UK 'Look-In' Magazine for at least five years - see scans below..

Some of the original page art has been listed on our favourite auction site recently also. I think these strips need to be collected and put out in a single volume for completists's sake...!! :kitt:

Is it just my impression or do they draw KITT as a stingray 'vette sometimes?

What old cartoon could my friends and I dress up as for homecoming week? Homecoming week is next week, and one of the days is 'Cartoon Day'. We need to find a good, older cartoon or animated show that the five or six of us could dress up for, and its okay if there are duplicates. Suggestions??

There was an anime that parodied KR in one episode but the Anime Production company took it off Utube cuz of licensing issues :(

Since I live in Hawaii we have every manga/anime out from japan/Korea/china over here. I have seen theses knight rider manga issues. many times awhile back. No one really goes out to buy them. Plus how they draw Micheal Knight looks to fist of the north star is and Slam dunkish mixed with Loopan the third girl characters Lol. If I'm ever in AlaMoana though I can go out and check if they still around. I rarely go to the tourist side of the island as everything their is 10 to 15% more expensive. I do like how they draw kitt and karr some art is good other then that they do draw kitt's nose to big in my opinion.

Heck that reminds me I recall seeing a Mitsubishi modded Kitt awhile back from some Japanese race crew or something like that Lol.
