do you think that No More Kings Knight Rider Song, Michael (Jump in) can be featured in the new movie currently in production by Glen larson?

Im sure it will be able to fit it somewhere, in a scene listening to the radio perhaps? Or in the end credits at least.

Im refering to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp6o5I99Idw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What do you guys think?
And Victor Kros, do you like the idea? Fancy mentioning it to Glen next time you speak to him? (as i heard you are in contact with Glen)

I just feel that a song intirely based off knight rider, should get the recognition it deserves (as with the band too)

just a note of correction...if anything, the project is NOT in production, or even pre-production. Here's a good article describing the states of movie production:

http://ezinearticles.com/?Stages-of-Mov ... id=2020406" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If anything, it's in a state called "Production #@!!", which means no one can agree to really get this thing started. As far as it's been stated, the movie rights are still with the Weinstein Brothers; does anyone know when that option (contract) ends?

When I stated in production, I was referring to the fact that he is writing the screenplay/script/story, which I would class as in production. Sorry if i didnt make that clear. But i shall read that link you sent me.

Technically the motion picture is in the development stage and has been there because an agreement on a script continues to come into conflict between Glen's creative vision and the studios preferences in order to produce a greenlit shooting script. Several completed scripts have been submitted (in various different approaches) so I wouldn't exactly call it "production #@$@". I would say "development hell" is more fitting but unlike the usual perception of the term - there is movement. Movement has never been the problem, it's setbacks by respective parties that delay the next stage towards true pre-production. You can thank NBCU in part for the continued delay thanks to their new series attempt which while enjoyable to some in the industry is considered a failure that harms the value of the property and the perception of potential investors (who usually aren't fans, just brass concerned about returns) needed to put together a multi-million dollar production budget.

I really can't comment on the use of what songs to use in the movie and while it's a nice idea, keep in mind there are licensing issues to deal with for copyrighted music and clearances that need to be reached in order to use it in a feature film. It really comes down to how badly someone wants the track in the film. It's not unlike Glen using several original recordings from The Eagles and Willie Nelson which had to be cleared for the series and later other songs were created as "soundalikes" by the masterful Don Peake in order to get around paying heavier royalties.

Lastly, allow me to make one thing perfectly clear - this is Glen's movie and Glen's baby. I don't take any ownership over it whatsoever. I take pride in being able to help contribute whatever ideas I can but Knight Rider has and always will rightfully belong to Glen A. Larson.

While I personally really like the song, I can tell you it definitely shouldn't belong in the end credits. Its lighter tone seems to contradict everything we've come to hear about the tone of the upcoming film. I'm not sure if it would have a place in the movie anyway, as it would be too on-the-nose a reference to the franchise within its own film. The classic theme (or some new variation of it) would probably fit best for the credits.

P.S. I do think it's a fun song, but agree, not for the tone of the movie.
