Re: Locations ?

Post by simon_a6 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 12:00 pm

The main corporation building and entrance from Chariot of Gold (not where he gets Kitt back, but the HQ) is, as I have just noticed, the same building as the boss in Knight Sting. The one where Kitt has a red shell that melts away.

It's the same gated entrance, same front entrance.

The interior may be the same too, though that may have just been a 'set'.

Can anyone pinpoint the location?

3431 Waverly Drive in Los Angeles

That is the correct location.

My apologies. And it's a Nunery!
I never saw this note. I saw another one saying it was from Chariot but it really wasn't.
This clearly is. Thanks.

But when Kitt is parked in front of the railings, there is the road going right back, and no building over it.
Your explanation has KITT parked in front of railings, with a massive chunk of building above.

found more info:

Someone on facebook recalled his memory of several places in Canyon Country, and mentioned:
"cal islands restaurant (the via princessa/14 fwy onramp locates that space)"

another post:
"how about how excited we got to see the CHIPs episodes filmed on sierra hwy (pre-via princessa) that showed CAL ISLANDS!"

You can find CHiPs (short clips) here:

got to check it out !
Has anyone found a particular video with 'Cal Islands' in it, from CHiPS?

Here's a pair of locations, one from each of the K.A.R.R. episodes:

1. From "Trust Doesn't Rust" - a drive by scene where K.I.T.T. is turning a corner (fun fact: this is the only scene IN THE ENTIRE SERIES where you see K.I.T.T.'s front turn signals in action)

Image

306 W. 7th St
Los Angeles, CA

2. From "K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R" - the scene where John robs the ATM.

From roughly the same angle:

Looking at the spot where the ATM was:

200 Main St.

If you are saying that this bending road is the location on the map in the bottom with the a, b, c, d on it, and is the same as the following person stated was from custom made killer, I have to say I think you are wrong.

On CMK it shows there is a junction very close to that corner. But if you look on the map and use google maps, you'll find it can't be that location, as when you move back to the junction, you are a long way from that bend (it's not in sight).

I agree it's bound to be close by, but I don't think that is it. Unless I am looking at it from the wrong part of that road.

KILLER KITT
Here's one to stump everyone here, even Joe and Sue!

Once kitt is stolen and arrives at the bad guys big comms truck, he comes over a bit of a hill and parks up.

Where is that? I don't see a single sign or anything that could be pin pointed.

For those of you also interested in Airwolf back in the day, they filmed at this rare location too.
They used it for the part where the girl (who was in Return to Cadiz and Good Day at White Rock) played a wife of a wealthy senior Gvt man. She was there at the end with Airwolf to give evidence, when the girl who worked for Archangel was in fact the killer.

They landed in that very car park. Tho you notice it more at the end.

Funny how it all ties up!

New Location Question: where did Stacey get run down in Knights of the Fast Lane?
It was right at the foot of a multi storey car park.
There are topics here showing where the running track is, and the fact track (Sammys), but none of the car park. Tho it may well be a very tough place to find!

Over to the experts............

Now there's double trouble for the locations posting from Red Rock Canyon just west of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hold on for the 10 second trailer premiere of tedpronj's Knight Rider Tour.

More video to come.

Vegas has changed quite a bit since some Knight Rider episodes were filmed here.
I went to one of the newest casinos yesterday - Aria. http://www.arialasvegas.com/
It's located at City Center, just south of the Bellagio which is south of Caesar's Palace on the west side of the strip. The architecture is stunning and the facilities are green - more sustainable with efficient air conditioning and materials. That doesn't even include the hotels, residences and retail center there. Although I only had time to go to casual dining, it was amazing.

The Knight Rider Festival III http://knightriderfestival.com/2011/is in Vegas March 18-19, 2011.
Be there!

I tried to recreate the feeling of the opening sequence to the 1982 pilot with this video from the night I arrived in Vegas.

KNIGHT OF THE CHAMELEON
I see that some very well educated people have found Armands, and Toni's house. But has anyone found the arch of JEX Industries, at the end. You see it just after the Air Vac removes the smoke from the little bomb in KITTs trunk.

Also - inside Armands .... is that really what is inside the building that has been located? Or was it just a set?

Quite an elaborate set for one episode.

I noticed in Knight of the Chameleon also that Armand's office 'down those stairs' is actually Devon's office in the Foundation. If you watch Voodoo Knight (last ever KR), Halloween Knight and numerous others, you will see the stairs with the curve at the bottom.

Just that Armand's has a load of indian and turkish stuff all over it.

HILLS OF FIRE
After Michael rescues the boy and his rabbit, they go to his mum's house. It's opposite a major road and up a road in a mountain. With a distinctive outer wall.

Anyone able to spot it on maps??

Hi all
I've been searching Google for HOTRS and found various topics all over the place, including one that Joe wrote on a separate forum asking about it.

I was wondering - could that building not be a restaurant at all, but one made to look like one?
The interior might have been shot at Universal??

I found a LOWES store that has that arched frontage. It clearly wasn't 'our' building because it was too modern, and from reading the threads, it sounds like it definitely is NOT Cal Islands.

Has anyone seen a picture of what CI looked like when it was still standing???
This is the most elusive location I think on this thread. And perhaps the Comtron building.
Comtron looks quite modern, even for today's standards and I'd find it hard to believe it has been flattened, as it's a lovely looking building.
Not like today's dull, all-glass buildings.

GIVE ME LIBERTY GIVE ME DEATH
Hi all
I just found a new location, and was so easy in a final frame.
Near the start of this episode MK and KITT go to the alternative energy race. They come off a 'main road' and into a race car park with flags and other cars. And in the final frame, you see a house in the background, up on a hill.

I paused the DVD, went back a bit and then froze - it's the Psycho House. It was filmed on a dry area in front of it. Looks like it's at the bottom of the path in front of it.

I thought in front of that structure was the Bates Motel. Does anyone know of any pictures from 1982 of that area? So we can see? Actually, I might look on Google Earth as you can go 'back in time' with that.

Yes: Halloween Knight. Tho that was made to be far more obvious.
I think this was a slightly camera shot 'foul up', as the structure is so well known.
