Obviously not a hugely impressive item as yet - a self origami-ing piece of techno paper - BUT - the start of something very interesting?
I always wondered if there was a way to molecularly change the structure of say a piece of metal, so that it could transform into another shape.
So for example, it fixes rigid as it would normally but becomes "fluid" to reshape itself if a certain kind of charge were passed through it. Once the charge has passed, it then stays in the new rigid shape.
Imagine if we could make a Mustang out of that stuff...
