Finally Available-An Affordable Comlink Watch

Post by kitt1 » Sun May 30, 2010 9:26 pm

OK guys, I can finally reveal the project that has taken nearly five years to complete. I can now offer to the KNIGHT RIDER community an affordable and accurate COMLINK WATCH replica prop. Only a few have been privy to this TOP SECRET project. I will let the photos and text speak for itself. These have sold for as high $900.00 on Ebay. I am selling these on Ebay for $50.00. But, I am making a limited time, discount offer to the members of the board of $45.00 plus $8.00 Priority Mail shipping in the US. If you are outside the US, I will only ship via FEDEX. This is the only way I can track these. If you are outside the US you should contact me before buying. And yes, you can buy more than one. My Paypal address is mpuette@hotmail.com I look forward to seeing your comments on this new item.

Mark has proven himself to be quite an adept fan at making prop replicas from our cherished original series of Knight Rider and I can tell you he's sparred no expense or attention to detail with his latest masterpiece! I have personally spoken to Mark about his process for creating and producing this very special and highly sought after replica from the series and it's facinating to see how much time and effort he's invested into making such a recognized prop avalible to the fans who remember it.

Although it's not the exact same functions as the original screen-used prop (AM radio) or doesn't talk, he's improved on the design so it's made to last and functional! In this day and age screen accuracy isn't much if your prop is not going to stand the test of time and for the price he's offering on these things, I have no doubt they will be flying off the shelves. I personally like the stamped KI logo on the back, very nice touch.

Really consider the value you're getting and the rarity of this particular piece of KR nostalgia. I for one will add a couple to my collection and I encourage every dedicated fan out there who can manage it, to add this watch to their collection too before they disappear into the sunset! Click the ebay link and get your order in asap!

I know a certain wise and venerable creator that's going to have one in his collection soon too, right next to his KNIGHT license plate, KOTWC award plaque, Fall Guy Truck, and #001 LE KRC artist proof set. :good:

Mark,If I order 2,can you give me one of those Casio display cases for one of them?I'd like to have one next next to my ertl 1:16 model kitt and the other I'll use for everyday use.Except mine won't be destroyed after jumping a fence.

Sorry, I do not have display cases. You might try a jewelry supply company
or check Ebay. I'm only selling the watches.

Those look amazing! I can't really justify spending $50 plus postage to the UK (I don't even wear a watch normally!) but it brings back fond memories of the Martin House made replica watch I had as a child - the one that played the melody from the Knight Rider theme when you pushed in the two right hand buttons simultaneously.

Nice work, hope you sell every last one!

David,
Thanks for the compliment. I have seen photos of those House Martin KR watches, but have yet to pick one up for my collection. Maybe one day. I pretty much have every other version of the original radio watch but that one. I understand what you're saying. Some things are more important to some people and not others. But, not to worry. Someone else will gladly buy the watch that you didn't.

Is the watch waterproof/water resistant?I ask this because I just thought of that large hole where the headphones would go into and throught gee if it rains thats the first place it will go into.

No, it is not water proof. Here is some important info from the instruction sheet...

IMPORTANT NOTES

1.DO NOT play with “Radio Dial” This
Dial is non-functional and can break.

2.DO NOT get the watch wet. The watch
Is not water proof or water resistant.

3.Avoid strong shaking. The electronic
watch can bear common shaking, but not
wild holding or dropping onto hard surfaces.

4.Don’t use chemical solutions to clean the
surface. Use a damp cloth moistened with water

Will any more be available by Christmas?! I'm looking to get myself a nice present for myself. I remember as a kid having a Casio watch with a similar design and I enjoyed pretending. 8) I'd love to to have a replica for use or collection.

Can't promise how long they will be available. Ordering information is at the top of this thread.

I just got mine yesterday as well.I was worried it would be too bulky and look awkward but its smaller than i thought.I keep thinking if I press the buttons that kitt would respond lol.I already put in for my second one to keep in a plastic case next to my ertl 1:16 kitt model also under glass. The only things I'm worried about it the dial on the bottom left.Is anyone elses very very loose.Like its about to break off when the wind gusts?I'm thinking of breaking it off to apply a tiny drop of crazy glue underneath to secure it.I kind of expected a thicker plastic knob to keep it in place.I'm also worried that the bands might break off.I might have to order new straps for $15 since I have a tendancy to break watches after 5-7 years.Still an excellent replica.Get them while you can.

Do you think it would be possible to make them with a soundboard in it to play kitt's lines that were used through the comlink on the show? I'd probably pay $200 for one of those.

If your dial is too loose, send the watch back and I'll replace it with another one. Or better yet, send it back and I'll refund your money, including shipping. These watches are plastic. They're copied off the originals. I don't think a wind gust will blow the dial off. As for the bands, they're durable rubberized plastic. I think you've see KNIGHT Mares too many times. That watchband seen in that episode was cut by the prop guy. Look at the screencap. Anyway, I want to make sure you're happy. Let me know.

Oh I'm happy with the replica. That's why I ordered the second one yesterday.I've been comparing it to video clips of the series knight of the rising sun, trust doesn't rust, knightmares, etc.I'm amazed at the detail.Just a bit worried about the dial falling off.
