I got a switch for the lights. I was thinking of installing it near the headlight switch. Hey Taoworm, give me a call.

MP3car.com doesn't offer the CarPC we need for KI3T.
Ebay has some left though.

This is the new link to the CarPC part for the Knight 3000

Well, I installed the switch for the dash lights today and I took the car for a ride for the first time at night with the lights and I think I will have to put a dimmer switch in. When I was in town the lights were fine but when you get going threw the cornfields and it's realy dark, they are overpowering your view. I will post some pictures later. I also ran my wires to the trunk for the Car PC. I'm going to start building a power box so that when I'm driving the car, the car will power the lights, Orb and Car PC and at shows I can flip a switch and power everything from a extra battery that I will build a box for in the trunk.

I just purchase this for my trunk from Shelby. Shock that it didn't cost an arm and a leg (only 92.00 with shipping). It will clean up the look of the trunk lid and I like to put my dash plaques from carshow on it. I made one but it didn't cover all the holes in the trunk lid. Let me know what you think.

If you guys are looking for a way to power the car pc, check out mp3car.com and look at DC-DC power supplies, they're built specifically for this purpose. I've used one with my car for quite a while now and it works great. It can be set up to automatically power up when the key is turned to ACC, and smooths out the dirty power that altenators tend to provide. It also has a power down mode so if the car's battery power dips below a certain voltage, it automatically powers down so you don't loose your battery if you leave your car and forget to turn the pc off.

KR KITT, let me know how that turns out, because I'm looking to do something similar to power all my accessories at carshows without the key.

Taoworm- Can a car pc with a normal screen as opposed to the orb support the voice program?

Hey lphill01 the link I posted for the carPC on Ebay comes with the power supply already installed in it. (No need to buy anything else.)

Yes it will support the program itself but that is all.

look great but what about the airbag issue does the airbag light come on? I thing to avoid this and still protect you'r occupent you have to put a resistor to fake the cpu of the car so it will not to know that you have disable the air bag

Passenger air bag is installed, and functional. To take care of the light, I opened up the dash gauges, and painted the airbag LED black, put it back together, and no more pesky light. Low tech solution, but worked great.

Today was the Denver St Patricks Day Parade, and KI3T made his debut. As promised more pictures of the car since this is the replica thread.

I had the headrest embroidery done from a screen capture from the show. If anyone is interested I can get it done for you as well.

KITT next to the 3000 is Steve Shiner's, I left my 2000 at home, and instead made today all about the Mustang.

I just had to drill 13 holes and be careful not to drill threw the trunklid. It cleans up the lid. I made one last year and I put my dash plaques from carshow on it but it didn't cover the complete lid. Not bad for $92.00 shipped from The Shelby Store.

Ok, I just made this for my trunk. Tell me what you think. It matches the trunk perfect. I will post some pictures of it installed later. If you like for me to make one for you, just email me.
