Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the steering wheel for the Series. Of course installing this will get rid of the Airbag but it does look awesome! :P

If you want the one from the series and not the pilot then I have to ask why...and check you for a fever...
To be exact the real name of the wheel is TREK R and color black

With all due respect, you are in error dylandog.
The pilot TV movie WAS a Momo Millennium steering wheel mixed with the JET 2 Momo wheel.

The SERIES steering wheel was the TREK-R.

I think Taoworm's right. Here's a pic of one of the commercials showing the wheel.

Well, just completed my KR2008 replica. Just added the matte black stripes 2 days ago. Sorry about the garage mess....we are having a cold, rainy day, and I didn't want KITT to get dirty!!

Well, the weather is still cool here in Florida, but at least the sun came out. So I took some new shots of my replica.

WOW!
all these cars look amazing. I have a question..what size are the racing stripes on the hood/roof/trunk area?

They look ,from the photos all you guys have sent, about 12"?

Hope you guys post more progress pics..I like em all!

Thanks Lar,

Since the Trufiber Venom hood is slightly different than the real KR hood, I had to make my stripes a little smaller. From the bumper to the end of the hood they are 9.25", then they are 10" from the roof back. The actual Shelby GT500KR starts around 10.25" and does 11" over the roof.

Yes, it helps protect the expensive scanner light from rocks.

I wanted to ask about the scanner for the hood.

What are you all using for tint & a diffuser?

Is it made of plastic sheeting or something else?

Just a curious question!

I cut my metal grill openings out.
I molded custom Lexan covers for the grill openings to best simulate the looks from the show car. I used spray tint on the inside of the Lexan to slightly darken them and a product called 'Frosted Glass' from Home Depot to act as a light diffuser.

WOW Matt...looks great! :D :good:

I'm about to ask a question that I have no clue what it is..LEXAN? What is the thickness of these sheets?

I've found some tinted plexiglass (plastic sheets about 1/4" or 1/8" thick), that is smoked or tinted abit to the dark brown look! With the snowfall melting (10" plus & a few 3 foot drifts), I've decided to go out to Home Depot & get some of the frosted glass you mentioned. With crazy winters & snowfall here in the Texas Panhandle, did you waterproof your scanner area? If so, what did you do? I'm very interested in seeing the how to photos or videos you might have.

If anyone else has any HOW TO pictures or videos, please post or email them. I'm eager to get mine started!

Lexan is a similar product to plexiglass. Lexan is much stronger than plexiglass and is easier to work with cutting-wise. <y lenses are mounted inside of the scoops and are, thus, resistant to most of the dirt and debris from the roads. I'm in Austin so snow is a rarity here.
My scanner is made by Taoworm and is waterproof so no worries. My scanner was nowhere near $5600. I do have some pictures that I took to aid is future installs of Taoworm's scanner.

Hey, guys I havent found anyone with the Attack modes front Bumper at the very least so I talked to one of the guys down here in FL about getting a mold created, to make some of these, I was told it would cost about $10,000 for the mold and one bumper and about $1,000 for the each after that. Unless anyone knows were to get the front of the attack mode. is anyone interested in one of these for say $1,200 that way I can try and get some of the money of the mold back?

I have an attack mode front bumper I got from ebay. It came with the top and bottom grills as well. It was damaged slightly from a turbo boost scene. Its the one where Michael jumps the prison fence and breaks the guy out. They didn't jump the fence of course, but they did a small jump so they could film the car landing. If anyone is interested, I am interested in selling it. I have been planning to put it up on ebay again, but if anyone here wants it,I'll give you 1st crack at it. I would prefer if someone could pick it up though because this thing is big and a hassle to ship. I am located in middle TN. Asking $500 or will consider trades.
